Cable Strap - Tailgate (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the tailgate.
  3. Release spring clip, and then release the LH cable strap from the body.

    Note
    Pull the spring back then slide up to release.
  4. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH tailgate cable strap to the tailgate, and then remove the strap from the tailgate.
    28 Nm (20.6 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH tailgate cable strap to the tailgate, and then install the bolt that attaches the strap to the tailgate.
    28 Nm (20.6 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  2. Secure the LH tailgate cable strap to body.

    Note
    Align to the mounting boss, and then slide down to engage spring clip.
  3. Close the tailgate.
  4. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
