Bed and Backbone Harnesses - Bed Left (Remove and Install)

Remove
- Open all the doors and lower all the windows.

Use a pocket screwdriver to manually
latch all the doors to prevent lockout.
- Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Open the tonneau cover.
- Open the tailgate.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
- Remove the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Side Apron Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH outer cantrail. See Closure Panels - Assembly - Cantrail - Left (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH sail baffle applique. See Exterior Trim Fittings - Sail Baffle Applique - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH sail baffle closeout. See Exterior Trim Fittings - Sail Baffle Closeout - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear fore fender flare. See Front and Rear Garnish - Rear Fender Flare Fore - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear fore fender flare carrier. See Front and Rear Garnish - Carrier - Rear Fender Flare Fore - LH (Remove and Install)
- Remove the LH rear aft fender flare. See Front and Rear Garnish - Rear Fender Flare Aft - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear aft fender flare. See Front and Rear Garnish - Carrier - Rear Fender Flare Aft - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the chargeport door. See Charge Port - Charge Port Door (Remove and Install).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
charge port assembly onto the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm 12-point deep socket
CAUTIONUse only hand tools. Risk of galling if power tools are used on stainless bolts. - Remove the bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH sail applique. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Sail Applique Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH tonneau water management seal. See Tailgate Seals - Tonneau Water Management Seal, LH, Center (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear lamp closeout applique. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Rear Lamp Closeout Applique - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH upper bed side wall. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Upper Bed Side Wall Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear bed closeout. See Truck Bed - Rear Bed Closeout - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH lower bed side wall. See Bed Side Wall - Bed Side Wall - LH (Remove and Install).

With an assistant holding the LH outer
bed side, remove the fasteners (x14) that attach the outer bed side to the vehicle, and
then remove the panel from the vehicle and place it on a padded surface.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Torx T25 socket
- Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Install).
- Remove the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH upper A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the rear header trim. See Headliner Trim - Rear Header Trim (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH cantrail trim. See Headliner Trim - Cantrail Trim - LH (Remove and Install).

Release the clips (x7) and datum that
attach the LH 2nd row shoulder cover to the body, and then remove the cover from the
vehicle.
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat back outboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Side Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat back inboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Back Inboard Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - C-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH upper C-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - C-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the charge port ECU. See Charge Port - Assembly Charge Port Controller ECU Gen 4 (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat back assembly. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2nd Row Seat Back Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).

Slowly loosen the bolt that secures
the locking cover to the rear controller, making sure that the cover separates from the
controller squarely, and does not bind.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
NoteDo not remove locking cover. Loosen until the bolt spins freely.NoteMake sure the bolt and locking cover are fully released before attempting to release the connectors.NoteIf the cover binds, tighten the bolt until the locking cover is square again, then loosen the bolt while holding the cover square to the controller.NoteUse a power tool to loosen the bolt. -
Disconnect the LH bed harness
electrical connector from the rear MV controller.
NoteThe connector has two tabs, one on the top right side and one on the left lower side of the connector head. Both tabs must be pressed inwards for the connector head to clear the locking cover and release successfully.Tip: Use a pocket screwdriver to press one of the connector tabs while pressing the other tab by hand.

Disconnect the electrical connectors
(x4) and release the clips (x5) at the lower interior section of the LH bed
harness.
NoteRelease the connector locks before disconnect the electrical connectors.

Disconnect the electrical connector
and release the clips (x5) at the upper interior section of the LH bed harness.
NoteRelease the connector lock before disconnecting the electrical connector.

Release the tabs (x6) that attaches the grommet to the body, and then pull the
harness outwards to remove it.

Disconnect the electrical connectors
(x6) and release the harness clips (x18) at the forward section of the LH bed
harness.
NoteRelease the connector locks before disconnecting the electrical connectors.

Remove the bolt that attaches the LH bed harness at the rear upper section.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Disconnect the electrical connectors
(x2) and release the clips (x9) at the rear upper section of the LH bed harness.
NoteRelease the connectors lock before disconnecting the electrical connectors.

Disconnect the electrical connectors
(x4) and release the harness clips (x7) at the rear lower section of the LH bed
harness.
NoteRelease the connector locks before disconnecting the connectors.

Remove the LH bed harness from the
vehicle.
Install
-
Position the LH bed harness into the
vehicle.
-
Connect the electrical connectors (x4)
and install the harness clips (x7) at the rear lower section of the LH bed
harness.
NoteConnecting the electrical connectors, and then engage the connector locks.

Connect the electrical connectors (x2)
and install the clips (x9) at the rear upper section of the LH bed harness.
NoteConnecting the electrical connectors, and then engage the connector locks.

Install the bolt that attaches the LH
bed harness at the rear upper section.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Connect the electrical connectors (x6)
and install the harness clips (x18) at the forward section of the LH bed harness.
NoteConnecting the electrical connectors, and then engage the connector lock.

Position the grommet to the body, and
then pull the harness inwards to install it.
-
Connect the electrical connector and
secure the clips (x5) at the upper interior section of the LH bed harness.
NoteConnect the electrical connectors, and then engage the connector locks.

Connect the electrical connectors (x4)
and secure the clips (x5) at the lower interior section of the LH bed harness.
NoteConnect the electrical connectors, and then engage the connector locks.

Connect the LH bed harness at to the rear MV controller.

Slowly tighten the bolt that secures
the locking cover to the rear controller, making sure that the cover is square to the
controller, and does not bind.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
NoteIf the cover binds, loosen the bolt until the locking cover is square again, then tighten the bolt while holding the cover square to the controller.Tip: While tightening the bolt, press the connector into the controller to keep it square. - Install the LH 2nd row seat back assembly. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2nd Row Seat Back Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the charge port ECU. See Charge Port - Assembly Charge Port Controller ECU Gen 4 (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH upper C-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - C-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - C-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH 2nd row seat back inboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Back Inboard Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH 2nd row seat back outboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Side Bolster LH (Remove and Install).

Position the LH 2nd row shoulder cover
into the vehicle, and then fasten the clips (x7) and datum that attach the cover to the
vehicle.
- Install the LH cantrail trim. See Headliner Trim - Cantrail Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the rear header trim. See Headliner Trim - Rear Header Trim (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH upper A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
- Install the rear fascia assembly. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH rear aft fender flare carrier. See Front and Rear Garnish - Carrier - Rear Fender Flare Aft - RH (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH rear fender flare. See Front and Rear Garnish - Rear Fender Flare - RH (Remove and Install).

With an assistant, position the LH
outer bed side onto the vehicle, and then install and hand tighten the fasteners (x14)
that attach the outer bed side to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Torx T25 socket

With an assistant, adjust the LH outer bed side to within gap and flushness
specification, and then torque the fasteners (x14) that attach the outer bed side to the
vehicle.NoteThe torque values are as follows:
- 13 mm bolts (x13) - 28 Nm
- T25 screw - 8 Nm
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 13 mm socket
- Torx T25 socket
- Install the LH lower bed side wall. See Bed Side Wall - Bed Side Wall - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH rear bed closeout. See Truck Bed - Rear Bed Closeout - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH upper bed side wall. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Upper Bed Side Wall Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH rear lamp closeout applique. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Rear Lamp Closeout Applique - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH tonneau water management seal. See Tailgate Seals - Tonneau Water Management Seal, LH, Center (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH sail applique. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Sail Applique Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).

- Install the LH sail baffle applique. See Exterior Trim Fittings - Sail Baffle Applique - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH outer cantrail. See Closure Panels - Assembly - Cantrail - Left (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Side Apron Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
- Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
- Close the tonneau cover.
- Close the tailgate.
