1. Verify turn plates and slip plates are locked
   Note

   Alignment machine may vary per Service Center

   

2. Open LH front door
   Note

   Push LH B-pillar door trigger to release
3. Lower LH front window
4. Drive vehicle onto 4-post lift and shift into park
   Note

   Recommend assistance for aligning vehicle to ramps

   

5. Remove RH front wheel cap
   Note

   1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

   

   

   

   

6. Remove RH rear wheel cap
   Note

   1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

   

   

   

   

7. Remove LH rear wheel cap
   Note

   1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

   

   

   

   

8. Remove LH front wheel cap
   Note

   1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

   

   

   

   

9. Connect to vehicle using Toolbox 3
   Note

   OBD-II connection is integrated into drivers lower IP cover, Open Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to vehicle, https://toolbox.teslamotors.com, Select connection status icon at top right corner then select connect locally, Icon will turn green when connected, Successful connection will automatically unlock vehicle gateway and place UI in Service Mode Plus

   

   

   

10. Set tire pressures to specification
    Note

    Via UI > Controls > Service > Tire Pressure, Refer to "Tire and Loading Information" label located LH B-pillar, Specification is 50 PSI

    

    

    

11. Unlock vehicle gateway
    Note

    After vehicle has been put into "Service Mode", place keycard on center console to turn on drive rails, hold down the brake pedal, while keep pressing right hand signal button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, "GTW UNLOCKING" should pop up on the UI right next to the VIN during these 10 seconds, once gateway is unlocked "GTW UNLOCKED 5400" will be displayed on the UI next to the VIN, the gateway will remain unlocked for 90 minutes, follow steps on Toolbox article #5582900 for any additional information

    

    

    

12. Clear straight ahead offset
    Note

    Via UI > Service Mode Plus > Service > Chassis > Alignment & Tires > Steering > Clear Straight Ahead Offset, Via Toolbox 3 > Actions > "PROC_PEPS_CLEAR-STEERING-OFFSET"

    

13. Run routine to center steering wheel
    Note

    Steering wheel check routine: "PROC_X_SBW-START-HOLD" > Steering ECU: psfa, timer 10 secIf the timer is selected for a high amount this can be cancelled in tbx with "PROC_X_SBW-STOP-HOLD" > Steering ECU: psfa, Use the light bar behind steering for checking alignment with the top of the steering wheelIf steering wheel is aligned correctly move on to the next stepIf steering isn't aligned correctly re-calibrate the steering wheel by running "Set Handwheel Zero" routine on the UI, Service Mode Plus > Chassis > Alignment & Tires > Set Handwheel Zero

    

    

14. Verify chassis measurement tool is set to 51mm
    Note

    Adjust as needed, Specification for "Zero" is 51mm

    

15. Raise 4-post lift to comfortable working height
    Note

    Verify rack is lowered onto locks evenly

    

    

16. Latch LH front seat belt

    

17. Manually latch LH front door

    

18. Place vehicle in neutral
    Note

    Enter vehicle > Enable Jack Mode > Shift to neutral > Close driver's door latch, Ensure climate control and exterior lighting is turned off

    

    

    

    

    

19. Push vehicle evenly onto turn plates
    Note

    Verify turn plates are centered to front wheelsRecommend assistance if needed, Slowly roll vehicle evenly onto turn plates

    

20. Position wheel chocks onto both sides of LH rear wheel
    Note

    2x chocks

    

21. Install alignment heads onto all four wheels
    Note

    4x alignment heads, Position alignment heads centered to wheel, Adjust side arms as necessary to grip tires securely

    

    

22. Perform rolling compensation
    Note

    Move vehicle using LH rear wheel, Use chocks to prevent vehicle from rolling away, Reinstall the chalks to secure vehicle after rolling compensation is done

    

    

23. Apply brake pedal depressor

    

24. Disable rear steer actuator
    Note

    Via UI > Service Mode Plus > Service > Chassis > Alignment & Tires > Center + Hold Rear, Via Toolbox 3 > Actions > "PROC_RSA_RAMP-TO-ZEROOR", This will center and disable rear rack

    

    

25. Perform caster sweep
    Note

    See instructions indicated via alignment machine display

    

    

    

26. Unlatch LH front door
    Note

    Use exterior door handle to release latch

    

27. Unlatch LH front seat belt

    

28. Run front center and hold routine
    Note

    Via UI > Service Mode Plus > Service > Chassis > Alignment & Tires > Center+Hold Front, Front rack will move to center and hold until timeout value reached, Adjust timeout value as needed, Click run and close pop up window, Center+Front and Hold Handwheel boxes will display a spinning icon until timeout is reached

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

29. Verify vehicle alignment is within specification

30. Perform rear toe adjustment
    Note

    2x jam nuts per side, 27mm & 32mm, 70 Nm, Loosen outboard jam nut, then inboard, Adjust 22mm turn buckle as necessary, Tighten inboard, then outboard once adjustment is done

    

    

    

31. Perform front toe adjustment
    Note

    1x rod, 15mm, 1x nut, 24mm, 90 Nm, Loosen the jam nuts and turn the inner turnbuckle CW or CCW in the direction indicated by the alignment equipment to achieve the in-spec “green” value, Tighten inboard then outboard once adjustment is done

    

    

    

    

    

32. Verify vehicle alignment is within specification

33. Remove alignment heads from all four wheels
    Note

    4x alignment heads

    

    

34. Install RH rear wheel cap
    Note

    1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

    

    

    

35. Install LH rear wheel cap
    Note

    1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

    

    

    

36. Install RH front wheel cap
    Note

    1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

    

    

    

37. Install LH front wheel cap
    Note

    1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

    

    

    

38. Lower 4-post lift fully
39. Remove wheel chocks from LH rear wheel

40. Unlatch LH front door
    Note

    Use exterior door handle to release latch
41. Remove brake pedal depressor

    

42. Raise LH front window
43. Close LH front door
44. Remove vehicle from 4-post lift
45. Perform test drive
    Note

    Perform a test drive after alignmentDrive a minimum speed of 25mph, Drive in a straight line and check for excessive pull, Verify the steering wheel is centered when vehicle is driving straight, Determine whether an alignment is recommended
