Front Stabilizer Bar and Links - Front Bar 130 N/mm (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Place the vehicle into Service Mode via the UI. See Service Mode.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  6. Remove the LH and RH front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the bolts (x6) that attach the lower valance to the body, and then remove the valance from the vehicle.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Release the covers to expose the bolts.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

  8. Remove the front aeroshield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  9. Disconnect the LH and RH CFM electrical connectors (x2) and release the harness clips.

  10. Remove the front fascia. See Front Bumper Fascia - Front Fascia (Remove and Install).
  11. Release the harness clips (x5) that attach the harness to the CFM, release the locking tab and disconnect the electrical connectors (x2), and then release the grommet and pull the harness through the frunk area.
  12. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the CFM to the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    The upper fasteners are accessible from the frunk area, and the lower fasteners are accessible through the sides of the CFM.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

  13. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the fore crossmember to the vehicle, and then remove the crossmember from the vehicle.
    90 Nm (66.4 lbs-ft)

    Push up on the CFM to release it. Use a hammer if needed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 18 mm socket
  14. Use air bags (x2) to inflate the mounting points on the CFM.

    Do not disconnect coolant lines.
  15. Remove the LH and RH bolts (x4) that attach the ankle catcher to the subframe.
    110 Nm (81.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 18 mm socket

  16. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the stabilizer bar to the end links.
    275 Nm (202.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket

  17. Maneuver the stabilizer bar to the LH side wheel well, and then clear the front subframe and dropdown to remove the stabilizer bar from the vehicle.

Install

  1. With assistance, maneuver the stabilizer bar through the LH front wheel well, and then through the opposing wheel well and into position.
  2. Install the LH and RH bolts (x4) that attach the ankle catcher to the subframe.
    110 Nm (81.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 18 mm socket

  3. Install the nuts (x2) that attach the stabilizer bar to the end links.
    275 Nm (202.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket

  4. Remove the air bags (x2) from the CFM.
  5. Connect the LH and RH CFM electrical connectors (x2) and secure the harness clips.

  6. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the CFM to the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

  7. Maneuver the electrical harness into position and secure the grommet, secure the harness clips (x5) that attach the harness to the CFM, and then connect the electrical connectors (x2) and engage the connector lock.
  8. Install the front fascia. See Front Bumper Fascia - Front Fascia (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the center applique assembly. See Front Grille and Applique - Front Center Applique Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the LH and RH front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Position the fore crossmember into the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the crossmember to the vehicle.
    90 Nm (66.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Lift the CFM away from the beam to aid in clearance. Install the beam by sliding rearwards.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 18 mm socket
  12. Install the front aeroshield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  13. Position the lower valance to the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x6) that attach the valance to the vehicle..
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

  14. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  15. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  16. Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  18. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  19. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
