Steering Column and Wheel - Steering Column Control Module (Remove and Replace)

Install

  1. Install the steering wheel control module. See Steering Column and Wheel - Steering Column Control Module (Remove and Install).
  2. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  3. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "Service-Redeploy"
  4. Click SERVICE CAN REDEPLOY, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  5. Re-establish vehicle connection to Toolbox 3.
  6. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "SCCM".
  7. Click PING-TP_SCCMSearch for routine in ToolboxSteering Angle and Stalk ECU Vehicle CAN CommunicationChassis Chassis, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  8. Click the Actions tab, and then search for "STEERING".
  9. Click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_X_SWCSearch for routine in ToolboxSteering Wheel ECU LIN CommunicationLow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage Controllers, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  10. Click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_X_STEERING-COLUMNSearch for routine in ToolboxSteering Column Self TestLow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage Controllers, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  11. Click PROC-VCLEFT_X_STEERING-COLUMN-CALIBRATIONSearch for routine in ToolboxSteering Column CalibrationUnspecified Unspecified, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  12. Click TEST-RESET_VCLEFTSearch for routine in ToolboxVCLEFT UDS ECU ResetLow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage ControllersLow Voltage / Power Distribution - Reset VCLeft, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  13. Perform Handwheel calibration. See Set Handwheel Zero.
  14. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service Mode Plus > Chassis > Steer by Wire > PEPS > Front Rack Calibration.
  15. Tap Front Rack Calibration, tap Run, and then successful pass.

  16. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  17. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  18. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
