Steering Column and Wheel - Instrument Panel Gap Hider - Lower (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to UI > Controls > Steering, and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column fully forward and fully down.
  3. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  4. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  9. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  11. Remove the instrument panel mid panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the instrument panel lower panel assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
  13. Release the clips (x4) that attach the steering column upper shroud to the steering column, and then remove the shroud from the steering column.
  14. Release the clips (x4) that attach the lower instrument panel gap hider to the steering column, and then slide the trim forward to release it from the lower steering column shroud.

    Gently pry apart from the upper gap hider to release.

Install

  1. Position the lower instrument panel gap hider onto the steering column, slide the trim into position above the lower steering column shroud, and then secure the clips (x4) that attach the trim to the steering column.
  2. Position the steering column upper shroud to the steering column, and then secure the clips (x4) that attach the shroud to the steering column.
  3. Install the instrument panel lower panel assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Install the instrument panel mid panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  6. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  11. Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  12. Raise the RH front window and close the RH front door.
  13. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to UI > Controls > Steering, and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust steering column back to the original position.
  14. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
