Remove

Remove the RCM. See Restraint Control Module (Remove and Install).
WarningThe RCM must be disarmed prior to service. Carefully review the (Remove and Install) procedure to understand the disarm/re-arm procedure.
Install
- Install the RCM. See Restraint Control Module (Remove and Install).
- On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Controls > Service Mode > Software Reinstall.

Touch Request
to initiate the software installation.
NoteThe vehicle will send a request to Tesla server for the re-installation of the current software. A yellow clock installation icon should appear within 5 minutes.
- Touch Install Now to start the software update.
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- In Toolbox, click the Dashboards tab, and then search for "RCM".

Click RCM
replacement.
NoteThis will populate actions on the right hand side of the window.
- Click RCM Airbag and Sensor Service Tasks , click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
