Ancillary Components - Flood Port (Remove and Install)

Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  5. Perform Vehicle HV Disablement procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
  6. Release the tabs (x8) that attach the flood port to the vehicle, and then remove the flood port from the vehicle.

    Rotate the flood port as needed so that the relief is accessible.

    Pry between the enclosure and the flood port. Once loose, remove the flood port through the relief near the breathers.

Install

  1. Position the flood port into the vehicle, and then press the flood port into position until the tabs (x8) are engaged.

    Verify the flood port is fully seated.
  2. Integrate HV power. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
  3. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  4. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
