Air Suspension Compressor and Reservoir - Air Reservoir (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Deflate the air suspension system. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  4. Open the tonneau cover.
  5. Open the tailgate.
  6. Remove the bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the pressurized pack valve block to the air suspension reservoir.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

    x1 electrical connector

    x1 clip, x1 cable tie

    Release the lock before connector disengagement.

    Cut the cable tie at the reservoir/ancillary air line bundle.

    Release the electrical harness clip at the bracket.
  8. Release the air suspension valve block.

    x3 rubber grommets

    Rotate clockwise until the top 2 rubber feet have released from the bracket. Pull upwards at a 45 degree angle to release the bottom rubber foot from the bracket.

    Leave all air lines and connections secured, and then set the assembly aside.
  9. Disconnect the air lines (x4) from the air suspension reservoir.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm 12 point combination wrench
    • 14 mm 12 point combination wrench

    torque: 7 Nm (14 mm); 5 Nm (10 mm)

    x4 VOSS fittings

    Discard the air line fittings after removal.
  10. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the air suspension reservoir to the body, and then remove the reservoir from the vehicle.
    33 Nm (24.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm 12-point socket

Install

  1. Install the nuts (x2) that attach the air suspension reservoir to the body.
    33 Nm (24.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm 12-point socket

    Note
    x2 fir tree clips
  2. Install the air lines (x4) onto the air suspension reservoir.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 14 mm deep socket

    torque: 7 Nm (14 mm); 5 Nm (10 mm)

    x4 VOSS fittings

    Install new VOSS fittings.

    Note
    Remove the plastic caps from the VOSS fittings. Press the air lines into the fitting until the mark aligns with the top of the fitting. Verify the line is properly secured by performing a push-pull test.
  3. Secure the air suspension valve block.

    Rotate counterclockwise until the top 2 rubber feet are secured onto the bracket. Push downwards at a 45 degree angle to secure the bottom rubber foot into the bracket. Position the air lines and connections into place for installation.
  4. Install the bolt that attaches the pressurized pack valve block to the air suspension reservoir.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

    Note
    Secure the air suspension reservoir and ancillary air lines at the white marked sections.
  5. Install the bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Close the tonneau cover.
  7. Close the tailgate.
  8. Refill the air suspension system reservoir. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  9. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
