Hoses - Hose, Radiator To Manifold (Remove and Install)
Correction code 1830073031 1830073032 0.36 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so. NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. To provide feedback on FRT values, email LaborTimeFeedback@tesla.com. NOTE: See Personal Protection to make sure wearing proper PPE when performing the below procedure.
Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Put the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Open the powered frunk.
- Raise the vehicle fully.
- Remove front aero shield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
- Place coolant catcher underneath the RH front of vehicle.
- Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
- Remove rear the underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
-
Release the spring clip, and then
disconnect the radiator to manifold hose from the supermanifold.
NoteDisconnecting the manifold hose will drain the coolant reservoir. Plug the open fitting (Hose Plug Kit 1135762-00-A) to minimize coolant loss.
-
Release the spring clip, and then
remove the radiator to manifold hose from the radiator.
NotePlug the open fitting (Hose Plug Kit 1135762-00-A) to minimize coolant loss.
Install
-
Install the radiator to manifold hose
to the radiator.
Notex1 spring clipNoteRemove plug.NoteMake sure the hose is fully engaged with a push-pull-push test.
-
Secure the radiator to manifold hose
to the supermanifold.
Notex1 spring clipNoteRemove plug.NoteMake sure the hose is fully engaged with a push-pull-push test.
-
Remove the coolant bottle cap.
-
Inspect the coolant level and top off
as necessary.
NoteMake sure that the fluid level is at the Max line.
-
Access the thermal system routines
using the vehicle touchscreen.
NoteTouch quick controls > Service mode > Thermal > Actions
-
Touch Stop Thermal Fill
Drain.
NoteAllow the routine to complete.NoteMake sure the routine is successful.
-
Touch Start Coolant Air
Purge.
CAUTIONWait until the coolant pumps stop running (audible noise). Routine "Passed" will appear, but the pumps will run for 10 minutes. If you start next another routine during this time, this routine will fail.NoteMake sure vehicle is not in Drive. Putting the vehicle in Drive will stop this routine.NoteRoutine is still running despite the completed message. The speeds of the coolant pumps can be monitored in Garage under the "PT Thermal" tab, Idle speed = ~1500 RPM. Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valves between SERIES and PARALLEL.NoteIf speeds hover at 7000 RPM, this indicates the pumps are air locked. Perform a vacuum fill. Continue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the bottle.
- Raise the vehicle fully.
- Install the front aero shield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
- Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
-
Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary.
NoteMake sure that the fluid level is at the Max line.
-
Install the coolant bottle cap.
-
Perform "Thermal Performance" through
the vehicle touchscreen.
NoteTouch Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance, and the touch Run. Close once the routine is completed.NoteIf the thermal test fails, see Toolbox article 206000.
- Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install rear the underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
