Procedure

  1. Inspect front external lights

  3. Inspect windshield for rock chips and cracks

    No damage in driver’s viewing area, airbag impact area, forward camera viewing area, or within 50 mm of edge allowed, No more than 3 cracks or chips to glass allowed
  4. Check all emergency release cables and switches

  29. Open powered front trunk

  30. Fill washer reservoir with fluid

  33. Visually inspect brake fluid level

  35. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  36. Remove all the 4 wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  37. Record the tread depth for LH rear tire

  50. Raise the vehicle to a comfortable working height, and lower the lift onto locks.

    CAUTION

    Make sure there is an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise the vehicle may tilt to one side.

    Make sure that the doors are clear of surrounding objects.

  51. Perform visual inspection of HV battery enclosure

  53. Remove front skid plate

  54. Remove the rear skid plate. See Skid Plate - Rear (Remove and Install).

  56. Perform inspection of suspension components

  57. Perform inspection of steering components

  61. Install the rear skid plate. See Skid Plate - Rear (Remove and Install).
  62. Install the front aero shield. See Aeroshield - Front (Remove and Install).
  63. Install all the 4 wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  64. Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).

  66. Check for active alerts

  67. Update vehicle firmware if available

    Select the clock on the center display, or go to the Software tab, then select install now to start firmware update. Select Install Now, Tap count down timer until clock runs down to 0, Check the center display and ensure the firmware package is installing
  68. Exit Service Mode through UI
