Front Brake Rotors - Calipers and Pads - Service Front Brake Caliper Bleed Screw Kit (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front brake hose bracket to the knuckle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  6. Position an oil drain container underneath the LH front brake assembly.
  7. Remove the dust covers from the LH front brake caliper bleed screws, and then remove and discard the bleed screws (x2).
    18.5 Nm (13.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket

Install

  1. Install new LH front brake caliper bleed screws (x2), and then instal the dust covers.
    18.5 Nm (13.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket
  2. Remove the oil drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  3. Lower the vehicle to access the frunk area.
  4. Bleed the LH front brake. See Brake Fluid Bleed - One Caliper.
  5. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  8. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  9. Perform a road test and burnish the brakes.
