Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove front aero shield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH lower control arm shield to the vehicle, and then remove the shield from the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front air spring module to the lower control arm.
    135 Nm (99.6 lbs-ft)

    Be prepared for some spring load to release from the bushings.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  7. Remove the and discard the nut that attaches the LH front end link to the lower arm, and then remove the end link from the lower control arm.
    275 Nm (202.8 lbs-ft)

    Counter hold the stud while removing the nut.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  8. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH front lower arm to the knuckle, and then remove the lower control arm from the knuckle.
    190 Nm (140.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  9. Remove and discard the smaller bolts (x2) that attach the LH front lower control arm to the subframe.
    175 Nm (129.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  10. Remove and discard the larger bolt that attaches the LH front lower control arm to the subframe, and then remove the lower control arm from the vehicle.
    300 Nm (221.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH front lower control arm to the subframe, and then install a new larger bolt that attaches the control arm to the subframe.
    300 Nm (221.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  2. Install new smaller bolts (x2) that attach the control arm to the subframe.
    175 Nm (129.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  3. Position the LH front lower arm to the knuckle, and then install a new nut that attaches the lower control arm to the knuckle.
    190 Nm (140.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  4. Position the LH front end link to the lower arm, and then install a new the nut that attaches the end link to the lower control arm.
    275 Nm (202.8 lbs-ft)

    • 21 mm socket
  5. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front air spring module to the lower control arm.
    135 Nm (99.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  6. Position the LH lower control arm shield to the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the shield to the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Install front aero shield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  9. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
