Height Controller and Sensors - Rear Air Suspension Height Sensor Assembly - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Disconnect the LH rear ride height sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the nut that attaches the LH rear ride height sensor assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.
    350 Nm (258.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 27 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH rear ride height sensor assembly to the vehicle, and then install the nut that attaches the sensor to the vehicle.

    • 27 mm socket
  2. Connect the LH rear ride height sensor electrical connector.
  3. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  5. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  6. Place the vehicle into Service Mode via the UI. See Service Mode.
  7. Set the tire machine pressures to match those specified for the vehicle.

    Refer to the "Tire and Loading Information" label located on the driver side B-pillar.
  8. Verify chassis height measurement tool is zeroed at 51 mm, and adjust if necessary.
  9. Measure the vehicle ride height at the 4 designated points, and verify that the measurements do not deviate more than +/- 5 mm from the specifications provided in the Service Manual.

    Via TBX3, navigate to >Actions >PROC_TAS_X_CALIBRATE-RIDE-HEIGHTSearch for routine in ToolboxChassis.
  10. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  11. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  12. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
