Raise and support vehicle
NoteSet air suspension to "Jack Mode"

Open powered front trunk
NoteVia exterior switch or UI

Remove rear underhood apron
Note9x clips

Connect to vehicle using Toolbox

NoteVehicle OBD II connection is integrated into drivers lower IP cover, Open Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to the vehicle, https://toolbox.teslamotors.com, Select connection status icon at top right corner, and select connect locally (icon will turn green when vehicle is connected)

Select "Actions" and search for
"EPB"

Select PROC_EPBL_START-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox:(link), click 'Run', and allow routine
to complete
NoteChock wheel if necessary, Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete
- Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).

Position oil drain under LH rear brake
caliper

Release LH rear brake line from upper
control arm
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Disconnect EPB harness connector from
LH rear brake caliper
Note1x connector, Release locking tab
-
Remove LH rear brake caliper
Note2x bolts, 21 mm, 150 Nm, 1x banjo bolt, 11mm, 42 Nm
Install
-
Install LH rear brake caliper onto LH
rear knuckle
Note2x bolts, 21mm, 150 Nm, 1x banjo bolt, 11mm, 42 Nm

Remove bolt securing LH rear caliper
to bracket
Note1x bolt, 14mm, 40 Nm
-
Rotate LH rear caliper upward
-
Install brake pads onto LH rear
caliper bracket
Note2x pads, Ensure pads seat correctly onto guides
-
Install LH rear caliper pad return
springs
Note2x springs, Hold pads first then install springs, Install one at a time
-
Rotate LH rear caliper downward
NoteHold pads to ensure correct fitment

Install bolt securing LH rear caliper
to bracket
Note1x bolt, 14mm, 40 Nm

Connect LH rear EPB harness
Note1x connector, Engage locking tab

Remove oil drain from underneath
vehicle
-
Lower vehicle partially and set lift
onto locks
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

Hold brake pedal and select park on UI
to disable EPB service mode
- Bleed the affected brake. See Brake Fluid Bleed - One Caliper.

Pump brake pedal a few times to ensure
pedal feels normal
- Select "Actions" tab and search for ‘"Stiffness"
- Select TEST_BRAKE_X_STIFFNESS-TEST-SERVICEvia Service Mode:Chassis ➜ Brakes ➜ Brake Stiffness Testvia Service Mode Plus:chassis ➜ ESP Replacement Panel ➜ Stiffness Testvia Toolbox:(link), click "Run", and allow routine to complete

Disconnect Toolbox 3 from vehicle and
remove laptop

Install rear underhood apron
Note9x clips, Adjust windshield seal as required

Close powered front trunk
