Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace)

Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.

Remove

  1. Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the rear diffuser. See Undertray - Diffuser (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the rear fascia harness. See Rear Fascia and Tail Gate Harnesses - Harness - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH rear reflector to the rear fascia assembly, disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove the LH rear reflector from the assembly. Repeat this step for the RH rear reflector.

  5. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH reverse light to the rear fascia assembly, disconnect the reverse light electrical connector, and then remove the light from the assembly. Repeat this step for the RH reverse light.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket

  6. Remove the trailer hitch cover. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Trailer Hitch Cover (Remove and Install).

Install

  1. Place the rear fascia on a stable work stand.
  2. Install the trailer hitch cover. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Trailer Hitch Cover (Remove and Install).
  3. Position the LH reverse light into the rear fascia assembly, connect the electrical connector, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the light to the assembly. Repeat this step for the RH reverse light.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket

  4. Position the LH rear reflector onto the rear fascia assembly, connect the electrical connector, and then secure the clips (x2) that attach the LH rear reflector to the assembly. Repeat this step for the RH rear reflector.

  5. Install the rear fascia harness. See Rear Fascia and Tail Gate Harnesses - Harness - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the rear diffuser. See Undertray - Diffuser (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the rear fascia assembly. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Install).
