Hood Strut - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Set the air suspension to "Very High".
    Note
    On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Ride Height > Very High.
  3. Enable "Jack Mode" of the air suspension.
    Note
    On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode.
  4. Open the powered frunk.
  5. Remove the LH front wheel liner. See Wheel Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Support the hood.
    Note
    Current hood prop does not work with the Cybertruck hood due to size of opening, Have an assistant hold the hood up while the hood strut is removed and installed.
  7. Release the spring clip that attaches the hood strut to the hinge.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector, then release the locking clip that attaches the hood strut, and then remove the hood strut from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in

Install

  1. Install the hood strut.
    Note
    x1 electrical connector, x1 spring clip
    Note
    Engage the locking tab.
    Note
    Make sure that the spring clip is engaged to the stud mount before securing.
  2. Secure the hood strut to the hinge.

    Note
    Make sure that the spring clip is engaged to the stud mount before securing.
  3. Install the LH front wheel liner. See Wheel Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Close the powered frunk.
  5. Remove the suspension from "Jack Mode" and set it to "Medium".
    Note
    Touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode.
    Note
    Touch Controls > Ride Height > Medium
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
