Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Move the LH front seat fully rearward.
  3. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  4. Move the RH front seat fully rearward.
  5. Open the powered frunk.
  6. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  8. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  9. Partially remove the LH side lower A-pillar primary seal.
  10. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the LH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
  13. Remove the center floor trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Trim (Remove and Install).
  14. Remove the accelerator pedal side trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Pedal - Side Trim (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove the accelerator pedal. See Accelerator Pedal (Remove and Install).
  16. Fold back the LH front cabin carpet.
  17. Remove the RH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
  18. Remove the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  19. Partially remove the RH front door seal.
  20. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  21. Remove the center floor upper bracket. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Upper Bracket (Remove and Install).
  22. Remove the IP mid panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  23. Remove the instrument panel lower assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
  24. Remove the glovebox assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
  25. Remove the RH panel duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
  26. Disconnect the passenger airbag electrical connectors.

    x3 squib connectors

    Pull back the white tabs simultaneously to release the connectors.
  27. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the instrument panel top pad to the vehicle.

    The bolts are two different lengths.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  28. Remove the IP center shroud service panel. See Dash Support Frame - IP Center Shroud Service Panel (Remove and Install).
  29. Remove the center display assembly. See Touchscreen - Center Display Assembly (Remove and Install).
  30. Remove the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  31. Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar panels. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  32. Remove the IP top pad assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Top Pad Assembly (Remove and Install).
  33. Disconnect the instrument panel harness electrical connectors (x3) from the steering column.

    Release the electrical connector locking tabs.
  34. Disconnect the steering feedback actuator harness electrical connectors (x2).

    Release the lever lock, and then pivot towards the center of vehicle to release the electrical connectors.
  35. Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the steering column assembly.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket

    Note
    Place the steering column assembly on a suitable work surface.
  36. Remove the IP aerobracket assembly from the vehicle with airwave modules. See Interior Ducting and Vents - IP Aerobracket Assembly (Remove and Install).
  37. Remove the LH quarter panel assembly. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  38. Remove the LH side window demist duct. See Interior Ducting and Vents - Side Window Demist Duct - LH (Remove and Install).
  39. Remove the LH outboard IP floor duct. See Interior Ducting and Vents - Instrument Panel Floor Duct Outboard - LH (Remove and Install).
  40. Remove the supercarrier LH and RH side bolts (x4).
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  41. Loosen the supercarrier assembly upper bolts (x2).
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)

    The bolts do not need to be removed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  42. Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the supercarrier assembly to the steering column bracket.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  43. Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the HVAC distributor to the supercarrier assembly.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  44. Partially remove the supercarrier assembly.

    Note
    Pull away from the body enough to allow datums to clear the steering column bracket.
  45. Remove the steering column bracket bolts (x2).
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  46. Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the brake pedal assembly to the bulkhead.
    17 Nm (12.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket

    Remove the cotter pin, and then the clevis pin.

Install

  1. Install the brake pedal assembly nuts (x4).
    17 Nm (12.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket

    Note
    Install the clevis pin, and then secure the cotter pin.
  2. Install the steering column bracket bolts (x2).
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  3. Position the supercarrier assembly to the body.

    Note
    Align the steering column bracket datums to the supercarrier.
  4. Install the bolts (x5) that attach the supercarrier assembly to the steering column bracket.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    This will help with alignment to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Install the supercarrier assembly upper bolts (x2).
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)

    Use an airbag to elevate the cowl if needed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Install the supercarrier assembly side bolts (x4).
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Install the bolts (x5) that attach the HVAC distributor to the supercarrier assembly.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Make sure the harness is passed through the upper beam.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  8. Position the LH panel duct to the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x2) and connect the electrical connector that attach the duct to the vehicle.
  9. Position the LH side window demist duct into the vehicle, and then install the clips (x2) that attach the duct to the vehicle.

    Make sure the duct is seated over the HVAC case correctly to avoid circulation problems.

  10. Position the LH outboard IP floor duct into the vehicle, and then install the clips (x3) that attach the duct to the vehicle.

    Ensure duct is seated over the LH instrument panel floor duct inboard correctly to avoid circulation problems.

  11. Install the clips (x2) that attach the LH side window demist duct to the vehicle.
  12. Position the LH quarter glass demist duct into the vehicle, and then secure the clip that attaches the duct to the vehicle.

    Make sure the duct is seated correctly.
  13. Install the steering column assembly nuts (x4).
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  14. Connect the steering feedback actuator electrical connectors (x2).

    Secure the lever lock and the red locking tab once the electrical connector is seated.
  15. Connect the instrument panel harness to steering column electrical connectors (x3).

    Engage the electrical connector locking tabs.
  16. Install the IP aerobracket assembly. See Interior Ducting and Vents - IP Aerobracket Assembly (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the LH quarter panel assembly. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  18. Install the IP top pad assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Top Pad Assembly (Remove and Install).
  19. Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar panels. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  20. Install the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  21. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the instrument panel top pad to the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    The longer bolts are located in rearmost positions.

    • 8 mm socket
  22. Connect the passenger airbag electrical connectors (x3).

    Ensure the squib connectors are fully seated.
  23. Install the RH panel duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
  24. Install the glovebox assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
  25. Install the center floor upper bracket. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Upper Bracket (Remove and Install).
  26. Install the instrument panel lower assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
  27. Install the IP mid panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  28. Install the center floor trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Trim (Remove and Install).
  29. Install the RH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
  30. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  31. Install the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  32. Secure the RH front door seal.
  33. Unfold the LH front cabin carpet into position.
  34. Install the accelerator pedal. See Accelerator Pedal (Remove and Install).
  35. Install the accelerator pedal side trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Pedal - Side Trim (Remove and Install).
  36. Install the LH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
  37. Install the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  38. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  39. Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  40. Secure the LH side lower A-pillar primary seal.
  41. Install the center display assembly. See Touchscreen - Center Display Assembly (Remove and Install).
  42. Install the IP center shroud service panel. See Dash Support Frame - IP Center Shroud Service Panel (Remove and Install).
  43. Connect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  44. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  45. Close the powered frunk.
  46. Put the vehicle in Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  47. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  48. Touch Service Mode Plus > Thermal > Actions using the vehicle touchscreen.
  49. Touch Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance and run the routine.
  50. Touch Service Mode Plus > Chassis > Thermal > Test HVAC Performance and run the routine.

  51. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  52. Restore the RH front seat back to its original position.
  53. Raise the RH front window and close the RH front door.
