Front Seat Assemblies - 1st Row Seat Assembly - LH Drive - LH - Black (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver to rotate the lock mechanism on the front seat belt linkage counterclockwise to release it from the pretensioner, and then slide the linkage off the pretensioner and set it aside.

    DO NOT rotate clockwise to avoid damage to the mechanism.

    The lock screw will remain in the horizontal position when released.

  4. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the LH front seat tracks to the floor panel.
    34 Nm (25.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
  5. Adjust the steering column fully forward and to the highest position.
  6. Move the LH front seat fully rearward.
  7. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the front of the LH front seat tracks to the risers.
    34 Nm (25.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
  8. Move the seat to the middle of track and to the most upright position.
  9. Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the up position.
  10. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  12. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the LH front seat electrical connector.

    Note
    Release the yellow locking tab, and then release the black lever to disconnect the connector.
  13. With assistance, lift the seat off the risers, rotate the seat sideways, and then remove the seat out of the LH rear door opening.

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to damage any components during removal.

Install

  1. With assistance, position the LH front seat into the vehicle.

  2. Connect the LH front seat electrical connector, engage the black lever, and then engage the yellow locking tab.
  3. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  4. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  6. Install new bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the LH front seat tracks to the floor panel.
    34 Nm (25.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
  7. Return the 2nd row seat to their original positions.
  8. Close the LH rear door.
  9. Install the front seat belt linkage to the pretensioner:
    1. Make sure the lock screw is in the horizontal position. If the lock screw is not in the horizontal position, follow the release instructions to unlock it.
    2. Verify there are no twists in the seat belt from the upper B-pillar trim to the pretensioner.
    3. Install the linkage onto the pretensioner cable.

      The lock screw will rotate back to the locked position.
    4. Perform a firm pull test on the seat belt with at least 15 pounds of force.
  10. Move the LH front seat fully rearward.
  11. Install new bolts (x2) that attach the front of the LH front seat tracks to the risers.
    34 Nm (25.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
  12. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  13. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "SEAT-CALIBRATE".
  14. Click PROC_EGGLEFTVC_SEAT-CALIBRATEvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.

  15. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  16. Restore the LH front seat back to its original position.
  17. Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
