Remote and Passive Entry - Interior End Point (Remove and Install)

Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  4. Remove the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the interior endpoint to the body, and then release the connector lock and disconnect the electrical connector.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Release the clip that attaches the interior endpoint to the body, and then remove the endpoint from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the interior endpoint into the vehicle, and then secure the clip that attaches the endpoint to the body.
  2. Connector the interior endpoint electrical connector and engage the connector lock, and then install the bolt that attaches the interior endpoint to the body.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Install the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  4. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
