- 1080593-00-A - TOOL, CAULKING & ADHESIVE GUN, M18
Remove
- Open all doors and lower all windows.

Remove the RH upper C-pillar trim. See
Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
NoteThe RH trunk side trim does not have the connector.

Break the datums (x3) on the interior
side of the RH rear quarter body glass using diagonal cutters and a flat head
screwdriver to assist with the removal of the glass.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 1082477-04-A - Diagonal Cutters
- 1115199-00-B - HAMMER, DEAD BLOW, 54OZ
- Medium flat head screwdriver
- Release the rubber seal and release the clip that attaches the seal to the glass.
- Use IPA wipes to clean the exterior area of the RH rear quarter body glass, and allow at least 1 minute to dry.
- Apply tape around the RH rear quarter glass area to protect the body and paint.

Use a plastic trim tool to pry out the
rear edge of the RH quarter brightwork from the RH rear quarter body glass, and then
work along the glass and release the clips (x2) at the upper corner to remove the
brightwork from the vehicle.
NoteRemove if any clip is broken and remained.

Using a retractable blade knife to cut
down the rubber seal around the RH rear quarter body glass to allow greater access when
removing the glass.
WarningAlways wear cut-resistant gloves when using cutting tools.NoteThis action will avoid causing damage to the body and keep the wire from getting stuck in the seal when cutting the RH rear quarter body glass.
- Set up a pair of T-handles with appropriate length of square wire.

Wrap the square wire around the rear
edge of the RH rear quarter glass between the body and the seal.
NoteUse a trim tool to help guide the wire as needed.

Cut the RH rear quarter glass from the
body, and remove the glass from the vehicle.
NoteUse a sawing motion to cut through the urethane.

Clean the remaining urethane from the
body.
NoteEnsure the remaining glass adhesive is 1mm or less in thickness.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 1082497-00-A - Retractable Blade Knife
Install
- Use IPA wipes to wipe the urethane path on the RH rear quarter glass surface, and allow it to dry.
- Remove the masking tape from the RH rear quarter glass area.
- Use IPA wipes to wipe the urethane path on the body, and allow it to dry.
- Apply primer to the LH rear quarter glass, following the urethane path. Allow primer to dry for at least 1 minute before continuing.
- Apply primer to the urethane path and any areas where the paint was damaged during the removal of the LH rear quarter body glass. Allow primer to dry for at least 1 minute before continuing.

Prepare the caulking gun and
urethane.
NoteThe urethane opening must be 8 mm wide and 13 mm tall.

Apply urethane to the RH rear quarter
glass, following the primer path.
NoteTo avoid future NVH issues, pinch the ends of the urethane together, and make sure there are no gaps in the urethane.

Position the RH rear quarter body
glass over the vehicle and slide the rear quarter brightwork clip into the upper
brightwork.
NoteMake sure the datums are aligned with the holes on the body, and then apply pressure to fully install the glass. Start from the rear datum, and then work forward.
- Secure the RH rear quarter body glass with tape while the urethane is curing.

Install the RH upper C-pillar trim.

Remove the masking tapes after the
urethane has cured.
CAUTIONDo not drive the vehicle until the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended minimum drive-away time has passed. Dow Betaseal Express has a drive-away time of 1 hour minimum in temperatures of 0˚F (-18˚C) or warmer. If necessary, leave the tape applying pressure to the glass on the vehicle and advise the customer that they can remove it after 24 hours. Additionally, advise the customer that they should avoid high driving speeds and speed bumps for the next 24 hours.
- Close the liftgate.
- Raise all windows and close all doors.
