Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the LH front door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH front door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Front (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH door mirror assembly. See Door Mirror Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the LH front door glass run seal. See Seal - Glass Run - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH front door closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the LH door exterior release handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the LH front door latch. See Latch - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Release the clips that attach the LH front door harness to the door.
  11. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J7 door wiring harness connectors at the LH body controller module.
  15. Release the grommet, and then push the door wiring harness through the A-pillar bulkhead.
  16. Push the wiring harness through the door bulkhead, and then remove the harness from the door.
  17. Remove the LH front door check strap. See Check Strap - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Loosen the bolts or nuts that attach the upper and lower hinges to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
    49 Nm (36.1 lbs-ft)

  19. With assistance, fully remove the bolts or nuts that attach the upper and lower hinges to the LH front door, and then remove the door assembly from the vehicle.

    Note
    Remove the bolt/nut from the lower hinge first, and then remove the bolt/nut from the upper hinge.

Install

Tip: For instructions on how to align the front door, refer to Front Door Alignment.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  • Warning IconA warning icon, calling your attention to a possibly risky situation
    CAUTION

    Replace all patchbolts.

    Replace all nyloc nuts.

  • Install a new LH front door secondary seal on the new door. See Seal - Secondary - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  • Partially thread the upper bolt/nut for each hinge in the door so that the door can set on the hinges to install the lower bolt/nut.
