Tuner - FM / HD / DAB (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 21232102 0.24 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures.   • 2023-09-26: Add step for disconnect/connect 12V/LV power.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with HEPA filters, remove the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Install).
  5. Disconnect 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Remove the liftgate upper trim. See Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the liftgate lower trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect the radio tuner electrical connectors (x2).
  9. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the radio tuner to the liftgate assembly, and then remove the tuner from the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Install

  1. Position the radio tuner to the liftgate assembly, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the tuner to the liftgate.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  2. Connect the radio tuner electrical connectors (x2).
  3. Install the liftgate lower trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the liftgate upper trim. See Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
  5. Connect 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. If the vehicle is equipped with HEPA filters, install the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  8. Close the liftgate.
  9. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
