Carpet - Front - RH (7-Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
  2. Remove the passenger footwell cover assembly from the vehicle. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).

    It is not necessary to remove components from the assembly after removal.
  3. Remove the RH center console side panel. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the bolts that attach the RH front of the center console to the body.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 4 in extension
    • ¼ in std ratchet
    • ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
  5. Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Release the RH front door seal from the body.
  8. Release the clip that attaches the RH front carpet to the body near the front of the RH door opening.

  9. Fold the front of the RH front carpet rearward so that the RH body controller module and its surrounding connectors are exposed.
  10. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the front of the 1st row RH seat to the body.

    Use only the Torx Plus T45 bit to remove the seat bolts.

  11. Move the seat fully forward.
  12. Raise RH front seat cushion to the maximum height.

    Note
    Adjust the seat back if needed to avoid contacting the headliner.
  13. Insert the seat belt release key (1133787-00-A) into the bottom of the seatbelt pretensioner coupling to release the seatbelt from the pretensioner.
  14. Remove the center console lower rear panel. See Panel - Lower Rear - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove the bolt that attaches the RH rear of the center console to the body.

  16. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the 1st row RH seat to the body.

    Use only the Torx Plus T45 bit to remove the seat bolts.

  17. Move RH front seat to the middle of the track at the most upright position for easy removal.
  18. Remove the LH center console side panel. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the bolts that attach the LH front of the center console to the body.

  20. Move the driver seat forward and the cushion to maximum height.
  21. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear of the center console to the body.

    • ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
  22. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  23. Remove the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Install).
  24. Disconnect LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  25. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the RH front seat harness from the RH body controller.\

    Note
    Squeeze the release tab on the LH front seat connector lock, and then swing the lock away from the connector to release the lock.

    CAUTION
    Do not pull on the connector too hard. If the connector does not easily disconnect from the LH body controller, the lock is still engaged.
  26. Release the retaining clips (x2), and then remove the RH front seat harness from the RH footwell support bracket.
  27. Release the clips (x3) that attach the RH front seat harness to the RH front seat harness guide.
  28. Pull the RH front seat harness out from under the RH front carpet.
  29. With assistance, remove the seat from the vehicle.

    Note
    Lift the seat, tilt the seat back, rotate the cushion toward the front door, and remove the seat from the vehicle, cushion first.

    CAUTION
    Take care not to damage the upholstery or trim while removing the seat.

    CAUTION
    If reinstalling the seat, place the seat in an area where it is not likely to be tipped over or otherwise damaged.

  30. Disconnect the electrical connector that is located at the RH front of the center console.
  31. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the center console.
  32. With an assistant, remove the center console from the vehicle as follows:
    1. Tilt the rear of the center console upwards.
    2. Pull the center console towards the rear of the vehicle.
    3. Tilt the front of the center console upwards.
    4. Remove the center console through the passenger front door.
  33. Remove the clips (x2) that attach the RH front carpet to the vehicle.
  34. Lift up the rear edge of the RH front carpet, and then slide the carpet out towards the rear of the vehicle to remove it.

    CAUTION
    Be careful to avoid the foam below catching on the seat risers.

Install

  1. Position the RH front carpet into the vehicle.
  2. Install the clips (x2) that attach the RH front carpet to the vehicle.
  3. With an assistant, install the center console into the vehicle as follows:
    1. Tilt the front of the center console downwards.
    2. Slide the center console towards the front of the vehicle.
    3. Tilt the rear of the center console downwards until it is in place.
  4. Connect the electrical connector that is located at the RH front of the center console.

    CAUTION
    Ensure the connector is properly installed. Perform a push-pull test before continuing this procedure.
  5. Install the bolts that attach the RH front of the center console to the body.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

  6. Install the RH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the passenger footwell cover assembly. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  8. Connect the electrical connector in the rear of the center console.

    Ensure the connector is properly installed. Perform a push-pull test before continuing this procedure.
  9. Install the bolt that attaches the RH rear of the center console to the body.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    • ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
  10. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear of the center console to the body.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

  11. Install the center console lower rear panel. See Panel - Lower Rear - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  12. With assistance, position the 1st row LH seat in the vehicle.

    CAUTION
    Take care not to damage the upholstery or trim while positioning the seat.
  13. Secure the RH front seat harness under the RH front carpet.
  14. Secure the clips (x3) that attach the RH front seat harness to the RH front seat harness guide.
  15. Install the retaining clips (x2) that attach the RH front seat harness to the RH footwell support bracket.
  16. Connect the RH front seat harness to the RH body controller, and then secure the connector lock.

    Ensure the connector and lock are fully engaged.

    CAUTION
    Perform a pull push pull test to ensure the connector and connector lock are seated.
  17. Fully the seat RH front carpet.
  18. Unfold the RH front carpet back into position, and then install the clip that attaches the carpet to the body near the front of the RH door opening.

  19. Install the RH lower A-Pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the RH middle A-Pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  21. Connect LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  22. Install the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Install).
  23. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  24. Move the RH front seat fully rearward.
  25. Install the new bolts (x2) that attach the front of the 1st row RH seat to the body.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)

  26. Move the RH front seat fully forward.
  27. Install the RH 1st row seatbelt retractor onto the pretensioner.

    Note
    After reinstalling the seatbelt pretensioner into the seatbelt pretensioner coupling, perform a pull test to make sure that the seatbelt and pretensioner are securely engaged.

  28. Install the new bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the 1st row RH seat to the body.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)

  29. Move the RH front seat to the original position.
  30. Move the LH front seat rearward.
  31. Install the bolts that attach the LH front of the center console to the body.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

  32. Install the LH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  33. Move the LH front seat to the original position.
  34. Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
