Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the rear LH door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH rear door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH rear motor / window regulator assembly. See Window Motor / Regulator Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH rear door exterior release handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH rear door latch. See Latch - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Release the clips that attach the LH front seat harness and guide to the body.
  9. Move LH front seat fully forward.
  10. Release the LH upper B-pillar assembly, and then move it aside.
  11. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Release the clips (x2), grommet and connector for the rear LH door electrical harness seal at the B-pillar, and release the wiring harness from the B-pillar bulkhead.
  15. Pull the rubber grommet through the inside of the LH rear door, and then remove the LH rear door harness from the door assembly.
  16. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear door check strap to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  17. Remove the nuts that attach the LH rear door check strap to the door, and then remove the check strap from the assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  18. Loosen the bolts or nuts that attach the rear LH door to the upper and lower hinges by approximately 5 mm.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

  19. With assistance, remove the bolt on the lower hinge, remove the bolt on the upper hinge, and then unhook and lift the door away from the vehicle.

Install

CAUTION
If using this procedure to install an unpainted part, make sure to apply seam sealer to all seams prior to installing and painting the part. Refer to the Collision Repair manual for more information.
  1. With assistance, position the LH rear door assembly onto the vehicle.
  2. Install and hand-tighten the upper and lower bolts or nuts that attach the rear LH door to the upper and lower hinges.

  3. Position the LH rear door check strap onto the door assembly, and then install the nuts that attach the door check strap to the door.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  4. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear door check strap to the body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  5. Position the LH rear door harness into the door assembly, and then install the rubber grommet into the inside of the LH rear door.
  6. Install the clips (x2), grommet and connector for the rear LH door electrical harness seal to the B-pillar.

    Note
    Press the harness connector into the body connector until an audible click is heard.
  7. Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the LH upper B-pillar assembly. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Move LH front seat to its original position.
  12. Install the clips that attach the LH front seat harness and guide to the body.
  13. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the LH rear door latch. See Latch - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH rear door exterior release handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Close the LH rear door and check for gap and flushness. Adjust as necessary.
  18. Open the LH rear door and torque the bolts or nuts that attach the door assembly to the upper and lower hinges.
    49 Nm (36.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  19. Install the LH rear motor/window regulator assembly. See Window Motor / Regulator Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the LH rear door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  21. Install the rear LH door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  22. Calibrate the LH rear window. See Window Regulator (Recalibrate).
