Isolator - Motor Mount - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)
Correction code 30011022 0.96 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so.NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. To provide feedback on FRT values, email LaborTimeFeedback@tesla.com. NOTE: See Personal Protection to make sure wearing proper PPE when performing the below procedure.
- 2024-03-06: Simplified procedure excluding front subframe removal.
Remove
- Open all doors and lower the windows.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the rear underhood apron.
-
Release the bolt that
attaches the washer fluid reservoir neck to the underhood storage
unit.
NoteSome vehicles may have a push clip in this location.
-
Release thew washer tank
neck from the washer tank and set it aside.
- Remove the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
-
Release the clips (x2) that
attach the RH front brake line to LH front rail panel.
-
Apply masking tape to the RH
front brake line and the LH front rail panel.
-
Disconnect the
electromechanical brake booster connectors (x2).
-
Verify the operation of the
multimeter.
NoteSet multimeter to DC voltage and confirm multimeter is properly measuring voltage by testing on the LV battery.
- Fully raise the vehicle.
- Remove the mid aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
- Empty all pockets and remove all metal objects such as watches and jewelery.
-
Inspect the HV insulating
gloves for any damage.
-
Put on the HV insulating
gloves and leather over gloves.
-
Install amp clamp to RDU HV
harness
NoteVerify meter is zeroed out before performing measurement, Measure single cable. Verify ammeter is installed in correct direction. If current > 0.5A do not proceed with disconnecting HV connector. In this case, start vehicle electrical isolation again to make sure that all was properly shut down. Escalate for assistance as required if current < 0.5A, OK to disconnect and check voltage at HV plug on battery side.
-
Release the RDU HV harness
from the HV battery.
-
Verify that there is no high
voltage at the RDU HV header.
NoteMake sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage components Measure B+ to Ground, B- to Ground, and B+ to B-. If voltage is greater than 10V, pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering.
- Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the remaining nuts (x2), and then remove the front aero shield from the vehicle.
-
Remove the bolt that
attaches the FDU HV harness to the FDU.
-
Release the FDU HV harness
connector.
-
Position the FDU support
posts to the FDU.
NoteAlign the mounting position
-
Release the FDU HV harness
from the casting and move aside.
-
Remove the bolt that
attaches the LH motor mount to the LH motor mount isolator.
-
Remove and discard the lower
bolts (x2) of the LH motor mount isolator.
- Set up ladder to the front of the car to perform required steps in the frunk area when the car is on a 2 post lift and the FDU is on the transmission jack support.
-
Remove and discard the upper
bolt of the LH motor mount isolator.
NoteWith the removal of the final bolt, the mount will no longer be attached to the body and will fall, if not careful.
-
Remove the LH motor mount
Isolator.
NoteLift the mount up and pivot slightly forward, then slide it up to remove it. Take care not to damage any brake line or the front rail panel. Assistance is recommended below the vehicle to move the transmission jack as needed.
Install
-
Install O-Rings on new motor
mount isolator patch bolts (x3).
Note3x O-Rings, 9/16" x 3/8" x 3/32". Install 5 threads from the end of the new bolts.
-
Position the LH motor mount
Isolator.
NotePush the mount down and pivot slightly backwards to install it. Take care not to damage any brake line or the front rail panel. Assistance recommended from below the vehicle to move the transmission jack as needed.
-
Loosely install the upper
bolt of the LH motor mount isolator.
NoteInstall new bolt. The O-Ring on the new bolt will properly align with the new mount.
-
Loosely install the lower
patch bolts (x2) of the LH motor mount isolator.
NoteInstall new bolts. The O-Ring on the new bolt will properly align the new mount.
-
Torque the patch bolts (x3)
that attach the LH motor mount isolator to 62 Nm.
-
Install the bolt that
attaches the LH motor mount to the LH motor mount isolator (torque 105
Nm).
NoteYou may need to adjust the transmission jack to align the mount with the bolt hole.
-
Remove the FDU support and
bottom hoist support from under the FDU.
-
Position the FDU HV harness
to the casting.
-
Connect the FDU HV harness
connector onto the FDU.
-
Install the bolt that
attaches the FDU HV harness to the FDU (torque 10 Nm).
- Install the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
-
Connect the RDU HV harness
connector to the HV battery.
- Install the mid aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
-
Remove masking tape from the
RH front brake line and the LH front rail panel.
-
Install the clips (x2) that
attach the RH front brake line to the LH front rail panel.
-
Connect the
electromechanical brake booster assembly connectors (x2) to the brake
booster assembly.
- Connect LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
-
Attach the washer tank neck
onto the washer tank.
NoteMake sure that the washer hose is properly routed.
-
Install the bolt that
attaches the washer fluid reservoir neck to the underhood storage unit
(torque 5 Nm).
NoteSome vehicles may have a push clip in this location.
