Remove
- Open the LH rear door and fully lower the LH rear window.
- Open the liftgate.
- 
          Release the upper and rear
                        portions of the LH rear door primary seal.
          
- 
          Release the rubber seal from
                        the LH rear quarter glass, release the clip that attaches the seal to the
                        glass, and then remove the seal from the vehicle.
          
- Fold the LH rear seat down and protect the seatback with a cover.
- Remove the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH load floor bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Load Floor - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH trunk pocket bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Pocket - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
- 
          Release the clips (x6) and
                        tab (x1) that attach the LH upper C-Pillar trim to the vehicle, and then set
                        the trim aside.
          NoteCarefully release the foremost part of the LH upper C-Pillar trim from the headliner.NoteThe LH upper C-Pillar trim will remain attached to the rear seatbelt.
- 
          Break the locating posts on
                        the interior side of the LH rear quarter body glass using diagonal cutters,
                        a flat head screwdriver, and if necessary, a deadblow hammer.
          
- Clean the exterior area of the LH rear quarter body glass with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipe. Allow the area to dry for at least 1 minute.
- 
          Apply masking tape around
                        the LH rear quarter body glass to protect the body and paint.
          
- 
          Pry the rear edge of the LH side bright molding from the LH rear quarter
                        glass to release it, and then work forward to remove it from the
                        vehicle.
          NoteBe careful with the upper clip that secure the quarter bright trim to the upper bright trim.
- 
          Remove any remaining clip parts from the upper bright molding.
          
- 
          Cut down the rubber seal around the LH rear quarter glass to allow more
                        access when removing the glass.
          
- Set up a pair of T-handles with square wire 6 feet long.
- 
          Wrap the square wire around
                        the rear edge of the LH rear quarter body glass between the body the
                        seal.
          TIpUse a trim tool to help guide the wire between the molding and glass.
- 
          Cut the LH rear quarter body
                        glass from the body, and then remove glass from the vehicle.
          TIpUse a sawing motion to cut through the urethane.
- Clean the remaining urethane from the body using a winged scraper set.
- Clean the body around the urethane path with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipe. Allow the area to dry for at least 1 minute.
- Clean the remaining urethane from the LH rear quarter glass using a plastic trim tool.
- Clean the LH rear quarter glass around the urethane path with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipe. Allow the area to dry for at least 1 minute.
Install
- Install the LH rear quarter glass seal onto the LH rear quarter glass.
- Wipe the body along the urethane path with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipe. Allow the area to dry for at least 1 minute.
- Apply primer to the urethane path and any areas where the paint was damaged during the removal of the LH rear quarter body glass. Allow the primer to dry for at least 1 minute.
- Apply primer to the LH rear quarter glass. Allow the primer to dry for at least 1 minute.
- Remove the masking tape from the rear quarter glass area.
- 
          Prepare the caulking gun and
                        urethane.
          NoteThe urethane opening must be 8 mm wide and 13 mm tall.
- 
          Apply urethane to the LH
                        rear quarter glass following the original path.
          NoteTo avoid future NVH issues, pinch the ends of the urethane together, and make sure there are no gaps in the urethane.
- 
          Position the LH rear quarter
                        body glass over the vehicle and slide the rear quarter brightwork clip into
                        the upper brightwork.
          
- Use tape to secure the LH rear quarter body glass to the body while the urethane cures.
- 
          Position the LH upper
                        C-Pillar trim on the vehicle, and then install the clips (x6) and tab (x1)
                        that attach the trim to the vehicle.
          NoteAlign the upper groove in the front portion of the C-Pillar trim with the headliner, and make sure the trunk seal is positioned over the trim.
- Install the LH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH trunk pocket bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Pocket - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH load floor bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Load Floor - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
- Install the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Close the liftgate.
- 
          Reseat the LH rear door
                        primary seal on the vehicle.
          NoteMake sure the LH rear door primary seal fits over the upper brightwork, LH rear quarter glass seal, and all interior trim.
- Remove the protective covering and fold the LH rear seat back into position.
- 
          Remove the masking tape
                        after the urethane has cured. Check for and clean off any tape fragments or
                        residue.
          CAUTIONDo not drive the vehicle until the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended minimum drive-away time has passed. Dow Betaseal Express has a drive-away time of 1 hour minimum in temperatures of 0˚F (-18˚C) or warmer. If necessary, leave the tape applying pressure to the glass on the vehicle and advise the customer that they can remove it after 24 hours. Additionally, advise the customer that they should avoid high driving speeds and speed bumps for the next 24 hours.
