Window Motor / Regulator Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

The side impact airbag deployment depends on the rear door sensor's ability to detect a side impact from air pressure. Make sure that there are no uncovered holes in the rear door shells. Additionally, always reinstall plugs or tape when servicing or inspecting the rear doors and their components.

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the LH rear door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the electrical harness from the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly connector.
  3. Remove the manual latch release cable from the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly.
  4. Release the connector lock, disconnect the electrical harness from the LH rear door pressure sensor connector, and then remove the pressure sensor from the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly.
  5. Release the clips (x3) that attach the electrical harness to the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly.
  6. Remove the bolts (x11) that attach the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly to the door.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
  7. Remove the plugs (x2) that cover the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly rail fasteners.
  8. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly to the LH rear door, and then gently lift the assembly upwards to release the datums and angle the bottom of the assembly to release the assembly from the door.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 6 in extension

Install

  1. Install the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly up and into the LH rear door, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the assembly to the door.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 6 in extension
  2. Install the plugs (x2) that cover the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly rail fasteners.
  3. Hand-install, and then tighten the bolts (x11) that attach the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly to the LH rear door.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
  4. Fasten the clips (x3) that attach the electrical harness to the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly.
  5. Install the pressure sensor into the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly, connect the electrical harness to the LH rear door pressure sensor connector, and then fasten the connector lock.
  6. Install the manual latch release cable to the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly.
  7. Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear window motor/regulator assembly connector, and then fasten the connector lock.
  8. Install the LH rear door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  9. Recalibrate the LH rear window regulator. See Window Regulator (Recalibrate).
