Switch - Exterior Release - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. If necessary, remove the license plate and bracket. See Bracket - License Plate - Rear (EMEA and APAC) (Remove and Replace) or Bracket - License Plate - Rear (NA) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the liftgate upper trim. See Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the liftgate lower trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the trunk exterior release switch and the rear facing camera.
  5. Release the clips that attach the trunk exterior release switch to the liftgate.
  6. Remove the switch from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the switch to the vehicle.
  2. Install new clips that attach the trunk exterior release switch to the liftgate.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the trunk exterior release switch and the rear facing camera.
  4. Install the liftgate lower trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the liftgate upper trim. See Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the license plate and bracket, if applicable. See Bracket - License Plate - Rear (EMEA and APAC) (Remove and Replace) or Bracket - License Plate - Rear (NA) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  8. Reset the vehicle DAS using the touchscreen: Service Mode "Wrench" > Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS.
  9. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  10. Verify that the rear facing camera works properly.
