Backrest Switch – Seat Back – 2nd Row – Center (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Move the driver seat fully forward, and then open the LH rear door and lower the LH rear window.
  2. Fold down the rear LH/60 seat.
  3. Working from the top of the backrest switch, use a trim tool to release the clips that attach the backrest switch to the seat.

    CAUTION
    To avoid damage, do not insert the trim tool at the bottom of the backrest switch.

    CAUTION
    The backrest switch has an electrical connector; do not pull the backrest switch away from the seat yet.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the backrest switch.
  5. Remove the backrest switch from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the backrest switch.
  2. Install the backrest switch and make sure that the clips are fully engaged.
  3. Raise the LH/60 seat.
  4. Test the backrest switch to make sure that it works as expected.
  5. Raise the window, move the driver seat to its starting position, and then close all doors.
