Module - Body Controller - LH (LHD) (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open all doors and lower all windows.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Move the driver seat fully rearward.
- Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove LH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the clip that attaches the LH carpet to the vehicle, and then fold the carpet rearward.
- Disconnect the headliner electrical connector.
- Remove the clips (x2) that attach the LH body harness to the body controller module area.
- Release the clip that attaches the electrical wiring harness to the LH body controller module.
- Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J7 LH front door electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
- Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J9 driver seat electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J10 instrument panel electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
NoteUse masking tape to label the connector as "J10" to avoid connecting the incorrect connector during installation.
- Disconnect the J11 HVAC electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
- Release clip that attaches the front wiring harness to the LH body controller module.
- Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J1 power connector from the LH body controller module.
- Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J5 body electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
- Disconnect the J6 front underhood storage connector from the LH body controller module.
- Release the connector lock, and then d isconnect the J2 body electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J4 body connector from the LH body controller module.
NoteUse masking tape to label the connector as "J4" to avoid connecting the incorrect connector during installation.

Remove the bolt that secures the LH body controller module to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- ¼ in std ratchet
- ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
- 2 in extension
- Release the clip that attaches the LH body controller module to the vehicle, and then slide the module downward to release the tab.
- Maneuver the LH body controller module from under the IP, and then remove it from the vehicle.
Install
- Maneuver the LH body controller module into position under the IP carrier, and then set the tab into the BIW cutout.
- Clip the LH body controller module to the vehicle.

Install the bolt that secures the LH body controller module to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- ¼ in std ratchet
- ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
- 2 in extension

Connect the J4 body electrical connector to the LH body controller module, and then engage the connector lock.
CAUTIONMake sure to connect the correct connector labeled during removal.NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.

Connect the J2 body electrical connector to the LH body controller module , and then engage the connector lock.
NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.
- Connect the J6 front underhood storage unit connector to the LH body controller module.

Connect the J5 body electrical connector to the LH body controller module, and then engage the connector lock.
NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.

Connect the J1 power connector to the LH body controller module, and then engage the connector lock.
NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.
- Install the clip that attaches the front wiring harness to the LH body controller module.
- Connect the J11 HVAC electrical connector to the LH body controller module.

Install the J10 instrument panel electrical connector to the LH body controller module, and then engage the connector lock.
CAUTIONMake sure to connect the correct connector labeled during removal.NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.

Connect the J9 driver seat electrical connector to the LH body controller module, and then engage the connector lock.
NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.

Connect the J7 LH front door electrical connector to the LH body controller module, and then engage the connector lock.
NoteEnsure the electrical connector is fully seated.
- Install the clips (x2) that attach the LH body harness to the body controller module area.
- Install the clip that attaches the electrical wiring harness to the LH body controller module.
- Connect the headliner connector.
- Unfold the carpet to its original position, and then install the clip that attaches the carpet to the vehicle.
- Install the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Replace).
- Install the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
- Install LH side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace)
- Install the LH front floormat.
- Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Connect to vehicle using Toolbox 3.0.
NoteVehicle connection is integrated into LH footwell cover.
- Perform a service CAN redeploy. See Software Reinstall - Toolbox.
- Sit in the front passenger seat and close the RH front door.
- In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then type "PROC_VCLEFT" in the search field.

Click PROC_VCLEFT_X_POST-REPLACEMENT-PROCEDURESearch for routine in ToolboxVCLEFT post replacement procedureLowVoltage ➜ VCLEFT Post Replacement ➜ VCLEFT Post Replacement Procedure, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
NoteKeep the driver seat clear of all objects during calibration.
- Move the front passenger seat to the original position.
- Raise the RH front window and close the RH front door.
- Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
- Move the driver seat to the original position.
- Close the LH front door.
- Inform the customer that their liftgate opening height settings have been reset and to refer to the owner's manual for instructions on setting the liftgate opening height.
