    Note
  7. Position a coolant drain container underneath the front of vehicle.
  8. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Thermal > Refrigerant System, authorize routines by holding right turn signal while depressing the brake pedal for 10 seconds with the Drive Rail on, tap Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
EXVs of a new Supermanifold are in closed position, so always perform "Start Thermal Fill Drain" routine on the new Supermanifold before A/C vacuum test, and confirm the EXV values are open in Thermal > Actions tab to make sure the EXV are fully opened.
  9. Recover A/C refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
  10. Remove the coolant bottle cap.
  11. Place a fluid extractor in front of the vehicle and set it to evacuate, then place evacuation hose at the left front corner of the coolant bottle to remove as much fluid as possible.
  12. Release the spring clip and disconnect the powertrain bypass hose from the Supermanifold.

    Note
Plug the ends of fittings as needed.
  13. Release the spring clip and disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the Supermanifold.
  14. Release the spring clip and disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the Supermanifold.
  15. Remove the A/C hoses from the vehicle.
  16. Visually inspect the liquid cooled condenser for a steel cable tie.
Informational PurposesAn informational icon, calling your attention
    Note
If a steel cable tie is found on liquid cooled condenser then replace Supermanifold. Do not reinstall a new cable tie as this could result in future leaks, If no cable tie is found then proceed with procedure.
  17. Remove the fasteners (x4) that attach the liquid cooled condenser to Supermanifold.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • 10 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  18. Slightly release the top end of the liquid cooled condenser to allow any excess coolant to drain.
Informational PurposesAn informational icon, calling your attention
    Note
Leave the A/C ports of liquid cooled condenser intact to Supermanifold to avoid any cross contamination.
  19. Remove the liquid cooled condenser from Supermanifold.
  20. Remove and discard the liquid cooled condenser outlet and inlet gaskets.

Install

  1. Install new liquid cooled condenser outlet and inlet gaskets.
  2. Lubricate all o-rings on the liquid cooled condenser with appropriate type of A/C oil. See Fluids and Capacities for A/C oil specifications.
  3. Install the liquid cooled condenser onto Supermanifold, and hand-tighten the fasteners.
  4. Torque the fasteners (x4) that attach the liquid cooled condenser to Supermanifold in sequence of "Mount1>Mount3>Mount2>Mount4".
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • 10 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  5. Install the radiator outlet and inlet hoses and the powertrain bypass hose to the Supermanifold.
Informational PurposesAn informational icon, calling your attention
    Note
Perform push-pull-push test to make sure the hoses are fully seated.
  6. Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  7. Install front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).

  8. Perform the vacuum leak test. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
  9. Vacuum and refill coolant. See Cooling System (Vacuum Refill).
  10. Inject oil into the vehicle and recharge the A/C refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
  11. On the touchscreen, tap Stop Thermal Fill Drain, and allow the routine to complete.
  12. Select Thermal > Sensors and Valves > Run Heat Pump Commissioning, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  13. Select Thermal > Coolant System > Coolant Purge, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
Informational PurposesAn informational icon, calling your attention
    Note
    • The routine will last for a while after the stop message displays. The coolant pumps are audible.
    • The test lasts for approximately 10 mins. Do not start another routine during this time.
    • Make sure that the vehicle is not in Drive. Putting the vehicle into Drive will stop this routine.
    • The speed in the test varies from 3500-6500 RPM (idle speed = ~1500 RPM) and the actuated valve varies between SERIES and PARALLEL.
    • If the speed hovers at 7000 RPM, it indicates the pumps are air locked. Perform the vacuum fill again. Continue to add the coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the bottle.
  14. Inspect the coolant level, top off as necessary, and then install the coolant bottle cap.
  15. On the touchscreen, select Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
