- Prepare the vehicle for lifting. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.

Perform the following
routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes):

- Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Start Thermal Fill/Drain
- Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Start Coolant Fill/Drain
- Thermal ➜ Refrigerant System ➜ Start Refrigerant Fill/Drain
- Disconnect 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Perform the vehicle HV disablement procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
- Remove the LH and RH rear wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH and RH suspension cover. See Cover - Rear Suspension - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the rear fascia diffuser. See Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect the RH side 12V subframe harness connector.
- Remove the RH side 12V subframe harness clip from the body.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH 12V subframe connector.
- Release the clip that attaches the LH subframe electrical harness to the body.

Remove the nut that attaches the rear
drive unit ground strap to the body.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm 12-point deep socket
- Remove the rear stabilizer bar. See Stabilizer Bar - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Release the clips (x2) that attach the coolant hoses to the LH shear plate.

Release the LH side hose clips from
the rear battery skid plate.
NoteNumber of clips may vary depending on vehicle built date.
- Release the RH side hose clips from the rear battery skid plate.
- Release the clips (x2) that attach the coolant hoses to RH shear plate.
- Position a coolant drain container underneath the LH RDU area.

Disconnect the RDU inverter inlet hose
from the fluid coupling.
NotePlug ends as needed.
- Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
-
Release the RDU inverter inlet tube
from the RDU HV cable harness.
Note1x fir tree clip
- Remove the bolt that attaches the RDU HV cable bracket to the RDU.
- Disconnect the RDU HV connector from the RDU.
-
Perform the RDU diode test.
NoteMake sure that the RDU HV cable is disconnected from the HV battery.
Use a multimeter in diode mode, with the positive DMM probe to B- of the inverter and the negative probe to B+.
Pin #1 on HV cables is B- and Pin #2 is B+.
MOSFET acceptable diode reading:1.0 - 2.0 V. IGBT acceptable diode reading 0.45 - 2 V (if you get OL or > 2V for a reading you most likely have the probes installed the wrong way around)

Release the RDU logic connector.
NoteDo not allow coolant to enter the connector. Move connector aside as needed.

Release the RDU logic connector
clip.

- Place subframe lifting tool into position underneath the rear subframe.

Raise subframe lifting tool to support
the rear subframe
Note3x straps. Attach metal hooks at the end of the straps to the rings on the subframe lifting tool and pull straps until they are secure. Lower the vehicle as necessary, Assistance is recommended.
- Remove the smaller bolts (x2) that attach the LH shear plate.
- Remove the large bolt that attaches the LH shear plate and subframe to the body, and then remove the shear plate.

Install the LH front extension bolt to
secure the subframe to the body.
NoteDuring lowering and raising the sub frame, the adjusting nut and the other three nuts should be kept at the same height.
- Repeat steps 30to 32 on the RH side of the vehicle.
- Remove the LH rear bolt that attaches the subframe to the body.

Install the LH rear extension bolt t0
secure the subframe to the body.
NoteDuring lowering and raising the sub frame, the adjusting nut and the other three nuts should be kept at the same height as possible
- Remove the RH rear bolt that attaches the subframe to the body.

secure the subframe to the body.

Partially lower the subframe and rear
drive unit assembly.
NoteUse caution while lowering subframe to avoid damage to surrounding components. Lower the subframe approximately 13 cm.
- Release the clip that attaches the inverter to heat exchanger hose to the inverter and remove the hose from the inverter.
- Release the clips (x4) that attach the inverter coolant hose to the RDU.
- Release the RDU inverter coolant hose from the heat exchanger, and the remove the hose from the vehicle.

Install the inverter to heat exchanger
hose to the heat exchanger.
NotePerform a push-pull-push test to make sure that the hose is fully seated.
- Install the clips (x4) that attach the inverter to heat exchanger coolant hose to the RDU.

- Raise drive unit and subframe into position.
- Remove the RH rear extension bolt.

Install the RH rear bolt that attaches
the rear subframe to the body hand tight.

Install the large bolt and shear plate
to the LH side of the rear subframe hand tight.

attach the LH rear shear plate to the body hand tight.

Install the large bolt and shear plate
to the RH side of the rear subframe hand tight.

attach the RH shear plate hand tight.

Torque the smaller bolts that attach
the LH and RH shear plates to the vehicle.
Note35 Nm for non-Structural Pack vehicles, 62 Nm for Structural Pack vehicles.

Torque the larger bolts that attach
the LH and RH rear shear plate to the body (torque 130 Nm).
Note1x bolt, 21mm, 130 Nm, Mark bolt after torque
- Torque the bolt that attaches the RH rear of the subframe to the body (torque 165 Nm).
- Torque the bolt that attaches the LH rear of the subframe to the body (torque 165 Nm).
- Install the clips that attach the coolant hoses to the RH shear plate.
- Install the clips that attach the coolant hoses to the LH shear plate.

Lower the rear subframe lifting
tool.
NoteMake sure that the yellow safety straps are removed from the subframe.
- Remove the subframe lifting tool from underneath the vehicle.
- Attach the RDU logic connector clip.

Connect the RDU logic connector.
NoteMake sure that there is no spilled coolant inside the connector.
- Connect the RDU HV cable connector to the RDU.
- Install the bolt that attaches the RDU HV cable bracket to the RDU (torque 6 Nm).

Remove the hose plugs, and then
connect the coolant inlet hose to the rear drive unit.
NotePerform a push-pull-push test to make sure that hose is fully seated.
- Install the RDU inverter inlet hose clip onto the HV cable.
- Install the RH side hose clips to the rear battery skid plate.

Install the LH side hose clips to the
HV battery rear skid plate enclosure.
NoteNumber of clips may vary per vehicle build date.
- Install the rear stabilizer bar. See Stabilizer Bar - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Install the nut that attaches the rear
drive unit ground strap to the body.10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm 12-point deep socket
NoteReinstall the washer if the vehicle had this washer during removal. -
Install LH side 12V subframe harness
clip to body

Connect LH side 12V subframe harness
connector

- Install RH side 12V subframe harness clip to the body.
- Connect the RH side 12V subframe harness connector.
- Install the rear fascia diffuser. See Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
- Install the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH rear suspension covers. See Cover - Rear Suspension - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH rear wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the coolant bottle cap, and then fill the coolant bottle to the "MAX" line.
- Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
- Restore the driver and front passenger seats back to their original positions.
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
