Pedal Pad - Brake (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Move the driver front seat rearward.
  3. Release the retaining flaps on the rear of the brake pedal pad, and then peal the pad from the pedal to remove it.

Install

  1. Use IPA wipes to clean the brake pedal, and then position a mirror behind the pedal for installation.

    Note
    Allow 1 minute for the IPA to dry.
  2. Apply a thin layer of P-80 Emulsion temporary rubber assembly lubricant to the mounting grooves on the brake pedal pad, and then insert a wire into the top groove of the brake pedal pad.

    Note
    The wire should be approximately 300mm long and 16-18 AWG. Allow an equal length of wire on each side of the pad. The wire will be used to ease installation.
  3. While pushing down on the center of brake pedal pad, secure the pedal into the three grooves on LH and RH sides and bottom, and then rotate the pad into position.

    Note
    Make sure the LH and RH sides and bottom retaining flaps are fully secure.
  4. While applying pressure to the top of brake pedal pad, pull the ends of the wire forward to engage top retaining flap to brake pedal.

    Make sure all four retaining flaps are secured to brake pedal.
  5. Move the driver seat to the original position.
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
