Cup Holder (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Remove Cup Holder for Original Center Console

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove the LH and RH center console bright strips. See Bright Strip - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the center console cup holder decor trim. See Decor Trim - Cup Holder - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  4. Use a plastic trim tool to remove the cup holder liner from the cup holder.
  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the center console power socket connector.
  6. Disconnect the electrical harness from the center console puddle light connector.
  7. Remove the screws that attach the cup holder lower assembly to the center console, and remove the cup holder from the vehicle.
    1.1 Nm (.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
    • 4 in extension
  8. Release the small tabs on the spring cap and slide the power socket inside the cap, so that the openings in the side of the socket align with the large tabs of the cap.
  9. Release the tabs of the cap and move the power socket and cap together out through the cup holder assembly.
  10. Release the clips that attach the puddle light to the cup holder, and then remove the puddle light from the cup holder.
  11. Remove the screw that attaches the armrest latch grommet to the cup holder.
    1.6 Nm (1.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T15 socket
    • 2 in extension

Remove Cup Holder for Center Console (2nd Generation)

  1. Remove the 2nd generation center console cup holder decor trim. See Decor Trim - Cup Holder - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  2. Use a plastic trim tool to remove the cup holder liner from the cup holder.
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the center console power socket connector.
  4. Disconnect the electrical harness from the center console puddle light connector.
  5. Remove the screws that attach the cup holder lower assembly to the center console, and remove the cup holder from the vehicle.
    1.1 Nm (.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
    • 4 in extension
  6. Release the two clips that securing the cup holder assembly and then remove the cup holder from the center console.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
