Correction code 18302402 1.02 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so.NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. To provide feedback on FRT values, email LaborTimeFeedback@tesla.com. NOTE: See Personal Protection to make sure wearing proper PPE when performing the below procedure.

  • 2023-08-14: Added a note about vacuum refill requirement when the coolant loss is greater than 1L.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  7. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the electrical sensor for the chiller to battery hose.
  8. Release the clip, and then disconnect the chiller to battery hose from the supermanifold.
  9. Place an absorbent towel under the car computer coolant connections, as shown.
  10. Release the clip that connects the LH car computer coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then disconnect the hose.
  11. Release the clip that connects the RH car computer coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then disconnect the hose.
  12. Plug the car computer coolant ports.
  13. Fully raise the vehicle.
  14. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  15. Position a coolant drain container underneath the LH front side of the HV battery.
  16. Remove the clips (x4) that attach the coolant hoses to the AC compressor bracket.
  17. Release the clips that attach the chiller to HV battery hose to the vehicle.
  18. Release the clip that connects the chiller to HV battery hose to the HV battery supply manifold, disconnect the hose, and then plug the male and female fittings.
  19. Remove the chiller to HV battery hose from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the chiller to HV battery hose into the vehicle.
  2. Remove the hose plugs, connect the hose, and then fasten the clip that connects the chiller to HV battery hose to the HV battery supply manifold.
Tip: Perform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.

Coolant loss greater than 1L requires vacuum fill.

  3. Install the clip that attaches the chiller to HV battery hose to the vehicle.
  4. Install the clips (x4) that attach the coolant hoses to the AC compressor bracket.
  5. Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  6. Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Fully lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the plugs from the car computer coolant ports.
  9. Connect the RH car computer coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then install the clip.
