Harness - Main Front (Non-Structural Pack) (LHD) (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 17100702 3.66 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures.   1. Open the front doors and lower the windows.
  2. Move the front seats backward.
  3. Block one of the wheels with wheel chocks.
  4. Enable the EPB Service Mode. See Parking Brake - Caliper - Rear - LH (Release)
  5. Open the hood.
  6. Power off the vehicle from the center display.
  7. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the 12V/LV battery. See 12V/LV Battery (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the LH and RH wiper arms. See Wiper Arms (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the windshield washer reservoir filler neck. See Filler Neck - Reservoir - Windshield Washer (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the wiper module. See Wiper Module (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the windshield washer reservoir. See Reservoir - Windshield Washer (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the front body controller module. See Module - Body Controller - Front (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove the car computer in order to enable disconnection of all connectors and harnesses from the car computer. See or Car Computer (Info-Ryzen) (Remove and Install).
  16. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Remove the LH air wave end cap from the main decor assembly. See End Cap - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Remove the LH front floor mat.
  21. Remove the LH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the LH footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  23. Remove the clip that attaches the LH carpet to the vehicle, and then fold the carpet rearward.
  24. Release clip that attaches the front wiring harness to the LH body controller module.
  25. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J1 power connector from the LH body controller module.
  26. Disconnect the J6 front underhood storage connector from the LH body controller module.
  27. Push the LH side of the front harness through the bulkhead.
  28. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J1 power electrical connector from the RH body controller module.
  29. Disconnect the J6 underhood storage unit electrical connector from the RH body controller module.
  30. Disconnect the 12V/LV connector from the vehicle.
  31. Release the DCDC cable from the RH body controller.
  32. Push the RH side of the front harness through the bulkhead.
  33. Disconnect the harness connector of the windshield heater at the underhood area, release the clip that attaches the harness to the body, and then attach the harness out of the way to avoid damage.
  34. Remove the wheel chocks and, with an assistant, push the vehicle onto a lift.

    CAUTION
    The vehicle can only be safely pushed for a very short distance and at very slow speed. Reposition wheel chocks once vehicle in correct position.
  35. Remove the LH and RH front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  36. Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  37. Release the clip and bolt (torque 5 Nm) that attach the LH and RH front wheel arch liners to the HV battery.
  38. Remove the LH front fender garnish. See Garnish - Fender - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  39. Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  40. Disconnect the front harness connectors for the LH side repeater and camera.
  41. Remove the front harness clip(s) for the LH side repeater and camera harness.
  42. Disconnect the LH front wheel speed sensor connector.
  43. Disconnect the electrical harness from the front end module connector.
  44. Disconnect the front harness connector from the cooling fan module.
  45. Disconnect the harness connectors from the horns.
  46. Disconnect the LH headlight connector.
  47. Disconnect the HVIL connector near the LH shock tower.
  48. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH shotgun accelerometer sensor.
  49. Remove and discard the bolts (x4) that attach the electrical harness ground terminals to the body in the front LH frame rail area.
  50. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ABS modulator.
  51. Disconnect the harness from the LH front rail bracket, and then remove the LH harness bracket from the vehicle.
  52. Remove the bolt (torque 7 Nm) that attaches the ground strap to the A/C compressor.
  53. Disconnect the connectors (x4) from the steering rack assembly.
  54. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector at the brake fluid reservoir.
  55. Disconnect the harness connectors (x2) from the brake booster assembly.
  56. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body in the front LH frame rail area.
  57. Remove the RH front fender garnish. See Garnish - Fender - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  58. Remove the RH wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace) .
  59. Disconnect the 12V/LV harness for the front fascia.
  60. Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the pedestrian warning speaker assembly.
  61. Disconnect the connector from the pedestrian warning speaker assembly.
  62. Disconnect the RH front end module harness connector.
  63. Disconnect the RH front wheel speed sensor connector, and then remove the clips that attaches the front wheel speed sensor harness to the vehicle.
  64. Disconnect the front harness connectors (x2) for the RH side repeater and camera, and the remove the clips that attach the harness to the body.
  65. Remove the front harness clip for the RH side repeater and camera harness.
  66. Disconnect RH headlamp connector
  67. Disconnect the RH front shotgun crash accelerometer.
  68. Remove the bolts (torque 8 Nm) that attach the ground harness and the connector for the front harness ground terminals near the RH front shock tower
  69. Remove the front harness clips around the RH front frame rail area.
  70. Remove the front harness from the vehicle.

Install

Note
Make sure the first responder loop is disconnected prior to the installation of the new main front harness.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  1. After installation is complete, perform a coolant air purge:
    1. Top up the coolant reservoir to the MAX level.
    2. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
    3.     4. Inspect the coolant level and top up to the MAX level.
