Carpet - Front - LH (Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace)

Warning
Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Remove

  1. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH center console side panel. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove screw and clips (x2) that attach the driver footwell cover to the instrument panel.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  5. Disconnect the connectors (x2), and then release the tabs (x3) to remove the driver footwell cover from the vehicle.
  6. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  7. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the 1st row LH seat to the body.

    CAUTION
    Use only the Torx Plus T45 bit to remove the seat bolts.

    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • 3/8 in std flex head ratchet
    • 3/8 in flex head torque wrench (installation only)
  8. Move the seat fully rearward.
  9. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the front of the 1st row LH seat to the body.

    Use only the Torx Plus T45 bit to remove the seat bolts.

    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • 3/8 in std flex head ratchet
    • 3/8 in flex head torque wrench (installation only)
  10. Position the LH front seat up and carefully lean it backwards.
  11. Release the push clips (x2) and vertical clip that attach the LH front carpet to the cabin support.
    Tip: Insert a clip pry tool on the outboard side of the clip, and then rotate to the right to release one side of clip. Move the clip pry tool inboard of clip and rotate to left to fully release the carpet clip from cabin support.
  12. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH front carpet underneath the seat.

  13. Release the harness clip and harness, release all edges, and then remove the LH front carpet from the vehicle.

    Note
    Take note of the short edge under the center console.

Install

  1. Position the LH front carpet into the vehicle, and then secure the harness clip and harness and all edges.

    Tuck the short edge underneath the center console.
  2. Install the clips (x4) that attach the LH front carpet underneath the seat.

  3. Install the vertical clip and push clips (x2) that attach the LH front carpet to the cabin support.
    Tip: Secure the vertical clip into place first.
  4. Position the LH front seat down and carefully tilt it forwards.
  5. Install the new bolts (x2) that attach the front of the 1st row LH seat to the body.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)

    Use only the Torx Plus T45 bit to install the seat bolts.

    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • 3/8 in std flex head ratchet
    • 3/8 in flex head torque wrench (installation only)
  6. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  7. Install the new bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the 1st row LH seat to the body.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)

    Use only the Torx Plus T45 bit to install the seat bolts.

    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • 3/8 in std flex head ratchet
    • 3/8 in flex head torque wrench (installation only)
  8. Move the LH front seat to the original position.
  9. Position the driver footwell cover into the vehicle, and then connect the connectors (x2) and then secure the tabs (x3).
  10. Install screw and clips (x2) that attach the driver footwell cover to the instrument panel.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  11. Install the LH center console side panel. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Close the LH front door.
