Ball Stud - Liftgate - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Use a telescopic stand to support the liftgate.

    Note
    Put a towel in between the stand and the liftgate to prevent damage to the liftgate trim.
  3. Release the LH upper power strut clip, separate the LH liftgate power strut from the ball stud, and then move the power strut aside.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH liftgate ball stud to the vehicle, and then remove the ball stud from the vehicle.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH liftgate ball stud into the vehicle and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the ball stud to the vehicle.
    11 Nm (8.1 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T30 socket
  2. Install the LH upper power strut clip, and then install the power strut aside.
  3. Remove the liftgate support.
  4. Close the liftgate.
