Hose - Front Manifold - RH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Release the LH and RH front wheel liner from the HV battery.

  8. Remove the front HV battery skid plate. See Skid Plate - HV Battery - Front (Remove and Replace).
  9. Position a coolant drain container underneath the RH front of the HV battery.
  10. Remove the spring clip, disconnect RH front manifold hose from the RH front of the HV battery, and then immediately plug the HV battery side.
  11. Position a coolant drain container underneath the front right center of the HV battery.
  12. Remove the spring clip, disconnect RH front manifold hose from the front of the HV battery, and then immediately plug the male and female fittings.
  13. Position a coolant drain container underneath the HV battery manifold hose.
  14. Remove the spring clip, disconnect RH front manifold hose from the LH manifold tube, and then immediately plug the male and female fittings.

Install

  1. Remove the coolant plugs, connect the RH front manifold hose from the LH front manifold hose, and then install the spring clip.

    Perform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
  2. Position a coolant drain container underneath the front right center of the HV battery.
  3. Remove the coolant plugs, connect the RH front manifold hose to the front of the HV battery, and then install the spring clip.

    Perform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
  4. Position a coolant drain container underneath the RH front of the HV battery.
  5. Remove the coolant plugs, connect the RH front manifold hose to the RH front of the HV battery, and then install the spring clip.

    Note
    Perform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
  6. Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  7. Install the front HV battery skid plate. See Skid Plate - HV Battery - Front (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH and RH front wheel liner to the HV battery.

  9. Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  10. Lower the vehicle fully.
  11. Remove the coolant bottle cap, and then fill the coolant to the proper level.

    Note
    Ensure that the coolant level is at the "Max" line.
  12. Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  13. Connect to the vehicle with a laptop with Toolbox 3.0.
  14. In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, and then search for "Purge".
  15. Click Coolant Air PurgeTEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGEGen3/tasks/TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGE Model3/tasks/TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGELow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage ControllersThermal / Actions - Coolant Air PurgeService Mode Service Plus Factory Mode Developer Thermal / Coolant System - Coolant Air PurgeService Mode Service Plus Factory Mode Developer hv / Procedures - Transport Service Plus Developer , and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
  16. Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary, and then install the coolant bottle cap.

    Ensure that the coolant level is at the "Max" line.
  17. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
  18. Install the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
  19. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
