Harness - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

- Open LH rear door
- Lower LH rear window

Remove fasteners securing LH rear door panel under armrest and door trim handle
Note2x bolts, T30, 6 Nm
-
Remove underside white task light from LH rear door panel
Note4x clips, 1x connector, Insert the trim tool to release C-notch toward front of door, then disconnect white task light with small flat screwdriver before removing it, Caution: harness very short

Remove LH rear door panel assembly
Note10x clips, 3x fir tree clips, 3x connectors, Pull outwards and up from underside white task light to release clips securing panel to door, then remove top portion from door seal, Remove harness from trim panel

Release inner belt seal from LH rear door
Note6x clips, Pull up to release seal, Remove clips left behind and reinstall onto seal

Remove circle button plugs covering openings in door for access to regulator guide blocks
Note2x plugs

Temporarily connect underside white task light to LH rear door harness
Note1x connector, Caution: route harness/lamp so it will not be damaged when closing door
-
Connect window switch special tool to LH rear door harness
Note1x connector

Close LH rear door latch to allow window to raise fully
NoteDo not close door with window in this position, as upper bright trim will be damaged
-
Raise window for access to regulator guide blocks
-
Remove bolt securing forward most regulator guide block
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 12 Nm
-
Remove bolt securing forward most regulator guide block
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 12 Nm

Remove window glass from LH rear door
NoteIt is suggested to ask another colleague to help
-
Release LH rear outer belt seal from door assembly by prying and pulling up
-
Disconnect rear window motor connector
Note1x connector, Disengage locking tab, then release connector body
-
Remove the manual latch release cable from window regulator panel
Note1x clip
-
Disconnect harness from LH rear pressure sensor
Note1x connector, Pull back on locking tab, then release connector body
-
Release clips securing door harness to closeout panel
Note3x clips
-
Remove bolts securing the window regulator to door assembly
Note11x bolts, 8mm, 4 Nm
-
Remove plugs covering regulator rail fasteners
Note2x plugs
-
Remove closeout panel assembly from door
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Remove bolts, then slide closeout panel assembly down and out, Window regulator and closeout panel come out as one piece

Disconnect LH rear outer door handle connector
Note1x connector, Pull to disengage locking tab, Pull again to release connector body
-
Release upper clip securing LH rear door harness
Note1x clip
-
Disconnect the LH front door latch
Note1x connector, Disengage locking tab, then release connector
-
Release clips securing LH rear door harness along door side
Note3x clips
-
Release harness clips along bottom of LH rear door
Note3x clips
-
Open LH front door
-
Remove LH mid A-pillar assembly
Note1x clip, 1x tab, Release the upper clip then pull mid A-pillar upward to remove
-
Remove clip securing LH lower A-pillar trim
Note1x push clip
-
Remove LH lower A-pillar trim
Note6x clips, 2 guide tabs, Pull rear of lower A-pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release trim panel
-
Release LH front seat harness and guide from body
Note3x clips, 1 datum, Datum goes through access hole on LH lower B-pillar
-
Move LH front seat forward
-
Release LH upper B-pillar assembly and move aside
Note4x clips, Pull the bottom of the upper B-pillar toward inside of the vehicle then pull the top to release the remaining clips
-
Release 2nd row seat cushion
NoteLift front edge of seat cushion upward to release foam from frame, Pull towards front of vehicle then tilt bench against 40/60 back

Partially remove LH rear door seal
-
Remove LH rear sill trim
Note5x clips, Rear edge is mated with groove in trunk side trim, Release clips at the front of LH rear sill trim working your way back towards rear of sill trim
-
Remove clip securing LH lower B-pillar to body
Note1x push clip, Clip secures lower B-pillar and rear cabin carpet to body
-
Remove the LH lower B-pillar assembly
Note6x clips, Pull the top of B-pillar to release top clips then work your way to bottom clips
-
Release grommet connector then remove LH rear door harness from the B-pillar area
Note1x connector, 2x clips, 1x grommet, Pry at both the top and then the bottom of rear door harness grommet while pulling away from B-pillar to release door harness

Remove rubber grommet from LH rear door assembly
Note1x grommet, Pull grommet through LH rear door assembly from within door
-
Remove LH rear door harness from door assembly
-
Position LH rear door harness into door assembly
-
Install rubber grommet to LH rear door assembly
Note1x grommet

Install LH rear door harness to B-pillar
Note1x connector, 2x clips, 1x grommet, Press LH rear door harness connector to body harness connector, Hold body harness connector in place till audible click is heard, Gently pull body harness connector to ensure its secure, Ensure door harness grommet is seated to B-pillar

Install the LH lower B-pillar assembly
Note6x clips, Align the bottom guide tab to its slot then press the bottom clips, Work your way to top clips

Install clip securing LH lower B-pillar to body
Note1x push clip, Clip secures lower B-pillar and rear cabin carpet to body
-
Install LH rear sill trim
Note5x clips, Rear edge is mated with groove in trunk side trim, Install rear edge of LH rear sill trim into trunk side trim and work your way forward securing clips

Reseat LH rear door seal
NoteSeat pillar and sill trim tabs underneath seal
-
Reposition 2nd row seat cushion
NoteSlide cushion rearward then align with buckles and foam with seat rail, Make sure cushion is fully seated with push & pull test
-
Install the LH upper B-pillar assembly
Note4x clips, Lower the seat belt slider to align it with the B-pillar panel, Insert top portion of upper B-pillar under the headliner to align the clips, Press the bottom to fully seat upper B-pillar to lower B-pillar, Make sure the seal correctly overlaps the trim
- Move LH front seat to original position

Secure LH front seat harness and guide to body
Note3x clips, 1x datum, Datum goes through access hole on LH lower B-pillar

Install LH lower A-pillar trim
Note6x clips, 2 locating pins, Align front locating pin first
-
Install clip securing LH lower A-pillar trim
Note1x push clip
-
Reseat LH front door seal along lower A-pillar trim
-
Install LH mid A-pillar assembly
Note1x clip, 1x tab, Align the bottom tab then push the top clip to fully seat mid A-pillar, Pull seal over trim
- Close LH front door
-
Install harness clips along LH rear door assembly
Note3x clips
-
Install harness clips along LH rear door side
Note3x clips

Connect the LH rear door latch
Note1x connector, Fully seat connector, then engage locking tab
-
Install upper clip securing LH rear door harness
Note1x clip
-
Connect harness to door handle assembly
Note1x connector, Fully seat connector, then engage locking tab
-
Install closeout panel assembly
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Slide window regulator rail up against inside of door and seat closeout panel outside, Install and torque bolts that secure window regulator rails

Install regulator rail bolt plugs
Note2x plugs
-
Install bolts securing the window regulator panel to door assembly
Note11x bolts, 8mm, 4 Nm, Hand start bolts to avoid stripping out the threads
-
Install clips securing door harness to closeout panel
Note3x clips
-
Connect door harness to LH rear pressure sensor
Note1x connector, Fully seat connector, then engage locking tab
-
Install the manual latch release cable to window regulator panel
Note1x clip
-
Connect rear window motor harness connector
Note1x connector, Fully seat connector, then engage locking tab
-
Install LH rear outer belt seal to door assembly by pressing downward
NoteP-80 lubricant may be used to ease installation
-
Install window glass to LH rear door
NoteIt is suggested to ask another colleague to help
-
Secure window glass to guide block clamps hand tight
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm, Make sure guide blocks are not bottomed out on the regulator, this will allow for adjustment if needed

Lower window fully
-
Install inner belt seal onto LH rear door
Note6x clips, Push down to secure
-
Release LH rear door latch by pulling emergency release cable
- Close LH rear door
- Open LH front door
- Fully raise LH rear window
-
Check gap and flushness
NoteRefer to CVIS for current spec, Stop procedure and re-adjust if necessary
- Open LH rear door
-
Close LH rear door latch to allow window height adjustment
NoteDo not close door with window fully raised, as upper bright trim will be damaged
-
Adjust glass for access to regulator guide blocks
-
Loosen bolts securing window glass to regulator guide blocks about half a turn to maintain position but still allow adjustment
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm
-
Adjust the front of moving glass to achieve flush target to B-Pillar applique
Note1x bolt, Use a 5mm hex socket to adjust the friction pad to tilt the glass inboard or outboard, Turn clockwise to achieve outboard adjustments and turn counter clockwise to achieve inboard adjustments

Adjust the rear of moving glass to achieve flush target to quarter glass assembly
Note1x bolt, Use a 5mm hex socket to adjust the friction pad to tilt the glass inboard or outboard, Turn clockwise to achieve outboard adjustments and turn counter clockwise to achieve inboard adjustments

Adjust moving glass to achieve gap target and hand tighten bolts
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm

Release LH rear door latch by pulling emergency release cable
- Close LH rear door
-
Check gap and flushness
NoteReadjust if necessary
- Open LH rear door
-
Close LH rear door latch to allow window height adjustment
NoteDo not close door with window fully raised, as upper bright trim will be damaged
-
Adjust glass for access to regulator guide blocks
-
Torque bolts securing window glass to regulator guide blocks
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm
-
Release LH rear door latch by pulling emergency release cable
-
Lower LH rear window
-
Disconnect window switch special tool
Note1x connector
-
Install circle button plugs covering openings in door for regulator guide blocks
Note2x plugs
-
Disconnect underside white task light from LH rear door
Note1x connector
-
Install underside white task light to rear door panel
Note1x connector, Make sure the white task light C notch is pointing toward front edge of door trim
-
Install LH rear door panel assembly
Note10x clips, 3x fir tree clips, 4x connectors, Secure harness clip first to make sure speaker connector and underside white task light connector are not swapped, then make harness connections, Slide top portion of panel into door seal first, then swing bottom into place, Ensure all clips are seated

Install fasteners securing door panel to rear door
Note2x bolts, T30, 6 Nm, Do not use M3 door fasteners which are shorter in length

Raise LH rear window
- Close LH rear door
- Connect to vehicle using Toolbox 3.0
- Select "Actions/Autodiag" tab and search for "window"
-
Select TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_REAR-L_CALIBRATE-WINDOWSearch for routine in Toolbox, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete
NoteThe window will cycle up & down, Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete
- Remove HSD cable from Ethernet port to disconnect Toolbox 3.0 from vehicle
- Close LH front door
