Front Wheelhouse NVH Absorber - LH (Remove and Replace)

  1. Open all four doors
  2. Lower all four windows
  3. Move LH front seat forward
  4. Tilt 7s 2nd row 60 seat forward

    Hold 2nd row 60 seat LH shoulder switch, Slide seat all the way forward and tit up
  5. Partially remove LH rear door seal
  6. Remove LH 7s Lower C-Pillar Trim

    8x clips, Rear edge is mated with groove in trunk side trim, Release clips at the front of LH rear sill trim working your way back towards rear of sill trim
  7. Move RH front seat forward
  8. Position 40 seat into easy entry mode

    Press shoulder switch and push 40 seat forward to position into easy entry mode
  9. Remove 3rd row seat cushion and disconnect harness

    1x connector, Pull LH and RH release lever under 3rd row seat cushion to release seat cushion
  10. Remove 3rd row LH seat cushion bolster

    1x bolt, 13mm, 37 Nm, Slide LH seat cushion bolster towards front of vehicle to remove
  11. Open liftgate
  12. Remove rear load floor
  13. Remove trunk sill trim

  14. Remove 7s LH load floor bracket

  15. Remove LH trunk pocket bracket

  16. Release 3rd row LH seat backrest

    Front switch at LH trunk trim panel
  17. Open charge port door
  18. Open the hood.
  19. Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.
  20. Remove the rear apron.
  21. Disconnect the 12V negative battery cable and First Responder Loop.
  22. Empty all pockets and remove all metal objects such as watches and jewelery.
  23. Inspect the HV insulating gloves for any damage.
  24. Put on the HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves.
  25. Verify there is no high voltage present at the charge port

    Make sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage components, Measure B+ to B-, B- to Ground, and B+ to Ground (use rear left door striker as a ground for the test), If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering
  26. Remove HV insulating gloves
  27. Release top edge of LH 7s trunk side trim and disconnect 12V outlet and trunk switch connectors

  28. Release remaining clips and remove LH 7s trunk side trim

    1x push clip, 5x clips, Guide front clip stanchions around LH C-pillar, Pull the top of the trunk side trim all the way down flat so it clears the edge of the folded down LH 3rd row seatback and pull straight out
  29. Remove LH upper C-pillar trim

    6x clips, Guide front upper corner groove out from headliner and place trim aside
  30. Remove LH C-pillar bracket

  31. Release connectors from charge port assembly

    2x connectors, Remove white locking tab, Depress tab to release connection from the charge port, Continue to pull off connector, The charge port connection is intended to disengage safety cap when released, Do not push down on red tab, Pull red tab to disengage lock, Pull again to release connector

  35. Remove bolt securing lower LH 2nd row retractor anchor to body

  36. Release LH front wheelhouse NVH insulator from wheelhouse

    Maneuver busbar to assist with clearing space for the wheelhouse to remove
  37. Secure LH front wheelhouse NVH insulator onto wheelhouse

    Maneuver the busbar to successfully tuck insulator onto wheelhouse
  38. Install bolt securing lower LH 2nd row retractor anchor to body

    1x patch bolt, 15mm, 35 Nm, Install new patch bolt
  39. Secure harness guide to body at LH rear door sill

  40. Clean charge port assembly busbar contact surface of residual penetrox

    Use plastic trim tool to push IPA wipe down between plastic divider, Allow 1 minute dry time
  41. Verify charge port studs are torqued to specification

    2x studs, T10, 2 Nm
  42. Apply Penetrox to backside of busbar leads

    Apply 2 drops of Penetrox A-13 about 5mm in diameter to either side of the hole on both leads, Spread evenly to verify the contact surface is fully covered
  43. Install charge port busbar leads to charge port assembly

    2x nuts, 10mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers, If excessive force is required to seat busbars, they may have been bent. Inspect for damage and replace if necessary
  44. Inspect HV insulating gloves

  45. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves

    Make sure to wear Electrical Protective Gloves any time Hioki tester is used
  46. Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV joint from HV busbar lead to charge port stud

    2x HV joints, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ).If the resistance is greater than 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ), there is too much resistance in the High Voltage joint. Remove the fastener, clean areas with isopropyl alcohol, install fastener back and test again.If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again.If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), hioki test passed, proceed to next step.

  52. Position LH 7s trunk side trim and install lower clips

    1x push clips, 5x clips, Start by tucking the lower portion of the trunk side trim around the edge of the 3rd row LH backrest so it slides in and seats properly, Guide front clip stanchions around LH C-pillar
  53. Connect 12V outlet and trunk switch connectors then install top edge of LH 7s trunk side trim

  55. Install 7s LH load floor bracket

  57. Install rear load floor
  58. Connect the First Responder Loop and 12V negative battery cable.
  59. Close charge port door.

    Do not try to manually close the charge port door.
  60. Raise 3rd row LH seat backrest to its original position

    Manually raise backrest up to its original position until it locks into place
  61. Close liftgate
  62. Install LH 7s Lower C-Pillar Trim

    8x clips, Rear edge is mated with groove in trunk side trim, Release clips at the front of LH rear sill trim working your way back towards rear of sill trim
  63. Reseat LH rear door seal

  64. Install 3rd row LH seat cushion bolster

    1x bolt, 13mm, 37 Nm, Slide LH seat cushion bolster into seat frame assembly
  65. Install 3rd row seat cushion and connect harness

    1x connector, Secure 3rd row seat cushion into RH and LH latches
  66. Move 40 seat to original position
  67. Move the RH front seat to its original position.
  68. Position 7s 2nd row 60 seat back to its original position

    Tilt 2nd row 60 seat down, Press LH shoulder switch and slide back into original position
  69. Move LH front seat to original position
