Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Install)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the underhood storage unit to the washer fluid reservoir neck.
    Note
    Some vehicles may gave a push clip in this location.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  4. Release the washer fluid reservoir neck from the washer fluid reservoir, and then set the neck aside.
    Note
    It is not necessary to remove the hose from the neck.
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the HEPA filter assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.
    Note
    Pivot the rear edge of the assembly upward to clear the brake reservoir, and then lift the assembly upward to clear the underhood storage unit.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. To position the HEPA filter assembly for installation, place the forward edge of the filter assembly under the underhood storage unit, and then carefully move the rear edge of the filter assembly past the brake fluid reservoir.
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the HEPA filter assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Pivot the forward edge down past the frunk assembly, and then carefully move the rear edge past the brake reservoir and into position. Gently press on the RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct. Rework requires new bolts.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Secure the washer tank neck onto the washer tank.
    Note
    Ensure the washer hose is properly routed.
  4. Install the bolt that attaches the underhood storage unit to the washer fluid reservoir neck.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Some vehicles may gave a push clip in this location.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
