Hose - Chiller to HV Battery (Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Prepare the vehicle for lifting. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  4. Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  5. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_VCFRONT_X_START-THERMAL-FILL-DRAINvia Service Mode:
    • Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Start Thermal Fill/Drain
    • Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Start Coolant Fill/Drain
    • Thermal ➜ Refrigerant System ➜ Start Refrigerant Fill/Drain
    via Service Mode Plus:
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Start Fluid Fill/Drain
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Start Fluid Fill/Drain
    • Drive Unit ➜ Front Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Start Coolant Fill/Drain
    • Drive Unit ➜ Rear Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Start Coolant Fill/Drain

  6. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
  10. Disconnect 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  11. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  12. Position a coolant drain container under the RH front side of the battery pack.
  13. Disconnect the front left manifold battery supply hose.

    Note
    Plug the hose connections.
  14. Put an absorbent towel under the car computer coolant hose connections.
  15. Release the clips that connect the car computer coolant hoses to the car computer coolant ports, and then disconnect the hoses.

  16. Disconnect the chiller to battery hose sensor connector.
  17. Disconnect the chiller to battery hose from the supermanifold.
  18. Remove the chiller to HV battery hose from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the chiller to HV battery hose into the vehicle.
  2. Install the chiller to battery hose to the supermanifold.

    Perform a push-pull-push test to make sure that the hose is properly seated.
  3. Connect the chiller to battery hose sensor connector.
  4. Install the car computer coolant hoses to the car computer coolant ports.

  5. Connect the front left manifold battery supply hose.

  6. Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Perform a coolant vacuum refill. See Cooling System (Structural Pack) (Drain and Refill).
  8. Connect 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_VCFRONT_X_STOP-THERMAL-FILL-DRAINvia Service Mode:
    • Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Stop Thermal Fill/Drain
    • Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Stop Coolant Fill/Drain
    • Thermal ➜ Refrigerant System ➜ Stop Refrigerant Fill/Drain

    • Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Stop Fluid Fill/Drain
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Stop Fluid Fill/Drain
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Stop Fluid Fill/Drain

    • Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Coolant Purge Start

  11. Remove the coolant bottle cap, and then fill the coolant to the "Max" level.
  12. Install the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).

  14. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
