Brightwork - Center Console (2.0) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the front doors and lower the front windows.
  2. Move the front seats to their lowest and rearmost positions.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect the 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Open the center console armrest fully.
  6. Release the clips (x17) that attach the center console decor trim to the center console, disconnect the connector, and then remove the decor trim from the center console.

    Note
    Release the surrounding clips first, and then release the front upper portion of trim.
  7. Remove the screws (x14) that attach the brightwork to the center console.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  8. Use a plastic trim tool to release the locator tabs (x12) that attach the brightwork to the center console.

Install

  1. Fasten the locator tabs (x12) that attach the brightwork to the center console.
  2. Install the screws (x14) that attach the brightwork to the center console.
    1.6 Nm (1.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
    • Hexagon Torque Wrench (installation only)
  3. Position the center console decor trim assembly onto the center console, connect the connector, and then secure the clips (x17) that attach the decor trim to the center console.
  4. Close the center console armrest.
  5. Connect the 12V/LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  7. Move the front seats back to their orignal positions.
  8. Raise the front windows and close the front doors.
