Track - Outer - Front Passenger Seat (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Check that the firmware is version 2023.2.11 or above. If the firmware version is not 2023.2.11 or above, update the vehicle firmware.
  2. Remove the front passenger seat from the vehicle. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the front passenger seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the front passenger seat outboard lap pretensioner. See Pretensioner - Outboard Lap - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Release the pretensioner harness clips (x3) from the seat assembly.
  6. Lay the seat on its seat back to gain access to the underside of the seat cushion.

    CAUTION
    Protect the seat cushion from damage as necessary.
  7. Remove the RH 1st row seat track position sensor. See Sensor - Position - Track - 1st Row Seat - RH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect the height motor electrical connector.
  9. Release the clip that attaches the track motor harness to the track motor housing.
  10. Disconnect track motor electrical connector.
  11. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the height motor assembly to the seat cushion frame.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  12. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the height motor assembly to the rear RH link.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 socket
  13. Slide the lift motor assembly downward and then outward, away from the wiring harness, to remove it from the seat assembly.
  14. Remove and discard the bolts that attach the front passenger seat outer track to the seat assembly.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  15. Release front passenger seat outer track from the track bridge assembly.

    Note
    Pry up on bridge tack motor tab, and then slide the outer track away to release it.
  16. Install the front passenger seat outer track onto the track bridge assembly.

    Note
    Track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with outer track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the outer track until fully seated.

Install

  1. Install new bolts that attach the front passenger seat outer track to the seat assembly.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  2. Install the clip that attaches the track motor harness to the track motor housing.
  3. Connect track motor electrical connector.
  4. Position the height motor assembly to the seat cushion frame for installation.

    Note
    Install the motor assembly at an angle to ensure the under seat harnesses are clear.
  5. Install a new bolt that attaches the height motor assembly to the rear RH link.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 socket
  6. Install a new bolt that attaches the height motor assembly to the seat cushion frame.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  7. Connect the height motor electrical connector.
  8. Install the RH 1st row seat track position sensor. See Sensor - Position - Track - 1st Row Seat - RH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Return the seat to normal upright position
  10. Install the front passenger seat outboard lap pretensioner. See Pretensioner - Outboard Lap - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install seat belt pretensioner harness clips (x3).
  12. Install the front passenger seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the front passenger seat into the vehicle. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. If servicing the front passenger seat in a North American vehicle:
    1. Remove all objects from the front passenger seat before beginning calibration.
    2. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls (Vehicle Icon) > Software and check the vehicle firmware version. If the vehicle firmware is 2023.2.11 or newer, perform a software reinstall. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen. If the vehicle firmware is not 2023.2.11 or newer, update the vehicle firmware. See Software Update.
    3. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
    4. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
    5. In Toolbox, click on the Actions tab, and then search for "OCS".
    6. Run the PROC_OCS1P_SELF-CALIBRATIONvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode Plus: Safety & Restraints ➜ Seats ➜ OCS1P Self Capacitance Calibration routine.
    7. Click on the Actions tab, and then search for "Seat calibration".
    8. Run the PROC_VCRIGHT_SEAT-CALIBRATEvia Toolbox: (link) routine.
    9. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
