Flood Ports - 2nd Generation (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  3. In Toolbox 3, click Dashboards > Service Tools > Vitals > Read Vitals.
  4. Under Active Alerts, search for a BMS_a123, BMS_a151, or a BMS_a035 alert.
  5. If:
    • Any of the alerts are present - Investigate and correct the low isolation condition before continuing with this procedure.
    • None of the alerts are present - Continue to the next step.
  6. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  7. Perform the vehicle electrical isolation procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
  8. Remove the rear HV battery skid plate. See Skid Plate - HV Battery - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the 2nd generation flood ports from the LH and RH underside of the HV battery ancillary bay.

    Note
    Twist the flood ports while pulling down.

Install

  1. Use an IPA wipe to clean the area around the openings where the flood ports were removed.
  2. Install the 2nd generation flood ports into the openings at the LH and RH underside of the HV battery ancillary bay.

    Note
    Press up firmly to fully seat the flood ports and fasten the clips (x8) internally.
  3. Install the rear HV battery skid plate. See Skid Plate - HV Battery - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  5. Perform the vehicle electrical isolation procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
  6. Add the ancillary bay air leak test as a separate activity if necessary. See Ancillary Bay Air Leak Test.
