Latch Pin - DC - Charge Port (China) (Remove and Replace)

Open all four doors.

Lower all four windows.
-
Move LH front seat forward.
-
Move RH front seat forward.
-
Open the hood.
-
Remove the rear apron.
-
Remove HEPA filter assembly.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot rearward edge up and past brake reservoir, Then lift up to clear frunk assembly
-
Open charge port door.
-
Open liftgate.
-
Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.
-
Disconnect the LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.
- Empty all pockets and remove all metal objects such as watches and jewelery.
-
Inspect the HV insulating gloves for any damage.
NoteMake sure that the HV insulating gloves are not expired. Refer to TN-15-92-003 for glove regional expiration information.

Put on the HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves.
-
Verify there is no high voltage present
at the charge port on the type 2 (AC charge inlet).
NoteMake sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Be sure to place the positive test lead on the side of the HV pin just past the plastic protective covers Measure the the voltage between B+ (the four dead front pins) to B- (rear left door striker as a ground for the isolation check), If voltage is greater than 10V, pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering.

Verify there is no high voltage present
at the charge port on the Combo 2 (DC charge inlet).
NoteMake sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Be sure to place the positive test lead on the side of the HV pin just past the plastic protective covers Measure the voltage between B+ (the two dead front pins) to B- (rear left door striker as a ground for the isolation check), If voltage is greater than 10V, pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering.

Remove HV insulating gloves.

Remove 2nd row seat cushion.
Note1x connector, Lift front edge of seat cushion upward to release foam from frame

Partially remove LH rear door
seal.

Remove LH Lower C-Pillar trim.
Note5x clips, Rear edge is mated with groove in trunk side trim, Release clips at front of LH Lower C-Pillar trim working your way back towards rear of sill trim, trim part may slightly differ, by vehicle build location,Clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly later.

Remove rear load floor.

Remove front load floor.
-
Remove trunk sill trim.
Note4x clips

Remove LH load floor bracket.
Note2x tabs, 2x clips, Clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly later.

Remove LH trunk side trim.
Note2x connectors, 1x push clip, 8x clips, 7x tabs, guide front clip stanchions around LH C-pillar, trim part may slightly differ by vehicle build location, and the number of clips may also varyt

Remove LH trunk side trim.
Note1x push clip, 5x clips, Release remaining clips and guide front clip stanchions around LH C-pillar.

Remove LH upper C-pillar trim.
Note6x clips, Guide front upper corner groove out from headliner and place trim aside.

Remove LH C-pillar bracket.
Note3x clips, 1x manual release cable, 1x harness clip

Release connectors from chargeport
assembly.
Note3x connectors, Fully remove white locking tab before disconnecting. Pull red locking tab to release lock, pull again to release from connector.

Remove charge port safety cap.
Note2x tabs

Remove fasteners securing charge port
busbar to charge port and remove busbar leads from studs.
Note2x nuts, 10mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers.

Release AC 3 phase connector from
chargeport assembly.
Note1x connector, Release locking tab upward.
-
Remove charge port assembly.
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm
-
Pull and hold the manual release cable
to release the actuator.
-
Remove actuator screws from charge port
assembly.
Note2x screws, T20, 3.3 Nm, Newer vehicle is equipped with T20 tamper proo

Remove actuator from charge port
assembly.
NoteTurn over 30 degrees and take out the actuator

Remove DC charge port latch stick o-ring
from charge port assembly.
Note1x o-ring, Discard after removal
-
Remove DC charge port latch stick from
actuator.
NoteRotate to release
-
Lubricate DC latch stick and
o-ring.
Note1x o-ring, Apply efficient amount of lubricant to latch stick and o-ring
-
Install DC latch stick to
actuator.
NoteRotate to install.

Install DC latch stick o-ring to charge
port assembly.
NoteDo not damage o-ring.

Position actuator to charge port
assembly.
NoteGently push actuator, Make sure there is no gap between actuator and charge port.

Install screws securing actuator to
charge port assembly.
Note2x screws, T20, 3.3 Nm, Newer vehicle is equipped with T20 tamper proo

Install charge port assembly.
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm
-
Install AC 3 phase connector to charge
port assembly.
Note1x connector, Slide downward to engage

Inspect HV insulating gloves.
NoteMake sure that the HV insulating gloves are not expired. Refer to TN-15-92-003 for glove regional expiration information.

Put on HV insulating gloves and leather
over gloves.
NoteMake sure to wear Electrical Protective Gloves any time Hioki tester is used.

Clean charge port busbar contact surface
of residual Penetrox.
Note1x connector, Allow 1 minute dry time

Apply Penetrox to backside of busbar
leads.
NoteApply 2 drops of Penetrox A-13 about 5mm in diameter to either side of the hole on both leads, Spread evenly to verify the contact surface is fully covered

Install charge port busbar leads to
charge port assembly.
Note2x nuts, 10mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers, If excessive force is required to seat busbars, they may have been bent. Inspect for damage and replace if necessary

Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV
joint from HV busbar lead to charge port stud.
Note2x HV joints, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ).If the resistance is greater than 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ), there is too much resistance in the High Voltage joint. Remove the fastener, clean areas with isopropyl alcohol, install fastener back and test again.If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again.If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), hioki test passed, proceed to next step.

Remove HV insulating gloves.

Install charge port safety cap.

Install logic connectors to charge port
assembly.
Note3x connectors, 1x red locking tab, 2x white locking tab

Install LH C-pillar bracket.
Note3x clips, 1x manual release cable, 1x harness clip

Install LH upper C-pillar trim.
Note6x clips, Guide front upper corner groove under headliner, Insert guide tab to headliner behind quarter glass, Seat trunk seal to edge of trim

Install LH trunk side trim.
Note2x connectors, 1x push clip, 8x clips, 7x tabs, guide front clip stanchions around LH C-pillar, trim part may slightly differ, by vehicle build location

Install LH trunk side trim.
Note2x connectors, 1x push clip, 8x clips, 7x tabs, guide front clip stanchions around LH C-pillar, trim part may slightly differ, by vehicle build location

Install LH trunk pocket bracket.
Note1x push clip, 5x alignment tabs

Install LH load floor bracket.
Note3x tabs, 2x clips, Confirm each installation with push-pull test, Clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly, if clip position is changed or push-pull action shows bracket not secure, remove clip from tab and seat clip into doghouse on bracket and reinstall

Install trunk sill trim.
Note4x clips, Seat seal around edge of trim

Install front load floor.

Install rear load floor.
-
Install LH Lower C-Pillar trim.
Note5x clips, Rear edge is mated with groove in trunk side trim, Install rear edge of LH Lower C-Pillar trim into trunk side trim and work your way forward securing clips, trim part may slightly differ, by vehicle build location, Confirm each installation with push-pull test, Clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly, if clip position is changed or push-pull action shows bracket not secure, remove clip from tab and seat clip into doghouse on bracket and reinstall

Reseat LH rear door seal.
NoteSeat pillar and sill trim tabs underneath seal

Install 2nd row seat cushion.
Note1x connector, Slide rear cushion rearward then align foam with seat rail, Make sure cushion is fully seated with push & pull test.

Connect the First Responder Loop and LV battery connector.
-
Install HEPA filter assembly.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, Rework requires new bolts

Install the rear apron.
-
Close liftgate.
- Move the RH front seat to its original position.
-
Move LH front seat to original
position.

Verify operation of charging
system.
NoteConfirm that AC and DC charging are ok.

Close the hood.
-
Raise all four windows.
-
Close all four doors.
NoteIf LV is powered up, Unlatch rear doors before closing.
