VIN Label - Windshield (Remove and Replace)

  • 1083427-00-A Equalizer Blade

Procedure

  1. Open both front doors and lower both front windows.
  2. Remove the instrument panel speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  3. Trim off the corners of VIN label.
  4. Fold back the lower portion of the wax paper from the VIN label.

    Use caution to not contact the exposed adhesion on the VIN label.
  5. Tape the back of the wax paper's folded portion to a narrow sheet of paper.
  6. Position an equalizer blade (1083427-00-A) onto the wax paper of VIN label and the added paper.
  7. Place a 6in ruler over the equalizer blade and the VIN label to stabilize the VIN label during installation. Insert the VIN label between the windshield and the body and place it onto the VIN label bracket.

  8. Remove the equalizer blade and use the ruler to help secure the lower portion of the VIN label to the VIN label bracket.
  9. Gently pull the paper back to release the upper portion of the wax paper from the VIN label, and then press down on the upper portion of the VIN label to secure it to the VIN label bracket.
  10. Install the instrument panel speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  11. Raise both front windows and close both front doors.
