Module - HomeLink Transmitter (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).

Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the electrical connector
from the homelink module.
CAUTIONDO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
- Pry the homelink module rearward and slide it outboard to release the tab from the bracket, and then remove the module from the vehicle.
Install
- Install the homelink module into the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connector to the homelink module, and then engage the connector lock.
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Reconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
- In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, and then search for "HOMELINK".
- Click on TEST-SELF_VCFRONT_X_HOMELINKSearch for routine in ToolboxHomelink TestLow Voltage / HomeLink - Test HomeLink, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
- Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.

On the vehicle touchscreen, verify the Homelink icon is visible.
NoteThe Homelink icon will only be active if the vehicle is not in Service Mode. Exit Service mode to verify, if necessary.
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
